TBH I would`ve expected the curves to almost mirror the stock graphs just with higher values my E90 did and so have all the other graphs I`ve seen. A sudden massive burst of torque like that can`t be good for the drivetrain.

We had before and after dyno runs on the same rig. The cars have between 2 - 4,500 miles on the clock (Carlos had 31,000 on his before the run on the 8th )

We were both surprised at the fairly low HP figures given that the cars have noticably more punch.

If his car has the same horsepower stock as a remapped one. We will never hear the end of it ...

No worries Si, im newby to BMW deisel tuning and currently scratching the surface with the available info, the extra 4 bhp may even make my 381HP / 489NM Impreza STI look and feel slow then!

He he! Id like to see it go round corners though on a country road without 4WD Traction! Still a very impessive achievement though!

On a sensible note and in an attempt not to be a post hijacker, im a 1 month owner of a 330D Msport tourer and am looking for some sensible mapping expected figures from the stock car and engine. Ive been down the forced induction route / bolt on go faster bits etc with my Scooby which is my weekend blast, the whole purpose of buying the 330D was for a sensible every day drive! Hmm that was the excuse to the wife anyway! But when you know you can have your cake and eat it and all that!!

Impressive, Im assuming no issues with the torque converters then in the auto vehicles box's?

So the main / reputable boys in the ecu mapping know are chippeduk(seen in BMW mag), DMS? (still looking for their website), what about Birds who offer the Hartge package? (Pricy though)!

Same old story - wether you like your power deivered frenetically (335i/M) or with a thundering velvet punch (335D).

I personally prefer the later for my dailly hack.

D.

Both these cars made 300bhp a week ago on the same rollers. (BMW figure 286bhp)

Personally i would be pissed off especially as it looks like you have lost all top end power with it being made at 3800 instead of 4800 which my and your 2 stock cars did. As ALL 335d, as they all rev hard and pull well to the redline.

Is this because he could not get the car to 5k due to the torque of the car forcing the rollers or because there was no more power afgter 3800?

NSF, i was informed at 1030 this morning thankyou. Spoke to both parties.

SO there re-mapped cars are 1bhp up on my stock car? weird aint it. Least the torque is up significantly.

i dont know much abt dynos but i was told that with autos u have to measure the wheel horsepower cos the torque convertors in auto will give wrong figures??!?!??!

The cars are pulling hard on the road up to 5000 - no change from before to the top end pulling profile

I agree, but this is a dyno dymamics one. They are very accurate.

Nether the less these 2 335d wven when stock made more WHP (wheel horsie power) than the stock figure.

THAT would be the only thing stopping me from re-mapping, i love how it pulls hard to the redline and would not want to lose that. I really wonder if it is even worth me doing it now

So was it the rolloers could not take the torque? cant be surely. 1000bhp skylines make 1000 ib ft torque give or take a few.

They could handle the torque but the car was at some risk of skipping out into the side guards when he hit it hard.

Thats probably very true,

I have a manual car (325d) and had 600NM at 2000 rpm, but got nasty vibrations in my drivetrain between 1500-2000 NM. With an auto you probably wont feel or hear it because of the torque converter, but its too much for a manual car of that type, its a weel known problem in chiptuned Audis.
I took it down a bit below 2500 NM to be safe, now I have 9-10 hp less between 1500-2300 rpm but no vibrations at all, guess the max torque is down from +600 to around 570 NM? Anyone know the math?

By the way, my 325d has 229,5 rearwheel horsepower at 3500-3800 rpm, and pulls hard all the way to 5000 rpm, around 195 rearwheel horsepower at 5000 rpm. That equals 263 engine horsepower with a calculated 12,7% drivetrainloss. 224 hp at 5000 rpm isnt bad for a single turbo diesel...

No one said it was bad

How did YOU change the amount of torque?

i thought the maps were standard maps? surely you would have paid big bucks for a ''live map''.
