The ST kits so far are just a manifold, turbo, and DP, maybe air filter. Maybe the hot side tubing to the intercooler?

Supercharger kits come with the supercharger, tuning(flash), brackets, belts, pulleys, breather system, intercooler (air to water in some cases), injectors, manifold, and spark plugs. Sometimes they come with more.

Just my 2c. No disrespect.
Took the words out of my mouth . I was going to get more detailed but got lazy, then I saw your post. We should see lower price ST kits, the overflow relocation is simple (I have done it), why can't someone start churning out some basic turbo kits? I'd love to buy a off the shelf kit that focused more on just the primary mechanical bits.

When you take into account a cheaper car will cost you a bunch in maintenance to make sure it's reliable, 15k upfront is not bad. It beats spending ~10k and then spending more money and time fixing a bunch of stuff on it.

And if you're being snide, remember you're on a BMW forum. Most people on here earn a decent to amazing income.

Not sure what kits you're referring to, but all the kits I've seen provide all the necessary hardware to run the kit, minus fueling and tuning hardware.

I do earn a "decent" wage but I work very hard for that money and I would never think of spending 15k for a "winter beater"... My current winter beater is an 01 Explorer which I've owned for the last 5 winters. Paid 3k for it and it runs like a champ. Yes, I have put some money into it...$300

Wait... this is a BMW forum? Almost everyone on here is upper middle class or rich?...I think not. You can pick up a used n54 for <15k and with these cars being so cheap to make 400+ hp I bet you are a little off on your income "figure". I have an idea though, we should make it a rule that if you want to join a "BMW forum" you have to submit your tax returns for the last 3 years

As someone who bought my XI as a winter beater I guess I'm an exception. What kind of numbers are we talking for minimum income for those 3 years. Wouldn't want to not make the cut.

It's your car in the end.

Your money to burn, your car to drive. Better rebuild your engine and do it right, you are looking at 20k range.

Minus fueling, tuning, plugs, intercooler, charge pipe and so on. I get it, we are expected to be FBO before we buy a ST kit...

Also these cars are getting cheap (I wish they weren't). So your decent to amazing income isn't true for anyone who recently bought an 07-08 for under $16k, cause some are going for that.

+1
We should start another forum for those of us who bought our cars new and paid sticker price...

What is your point dude? You seem offended that I am comfortable spending 15k on a car that I daily drive and consider a beater. I work hard for my income as well, but I see it as money in, money out. Earn it, save it, burn it.
