Thanks.
I was able to pull some extra out of the dash and route down next to the air vent (I'll be sending Patryk some pics) and got it all tucked away. Now I'm working on making all the wires nice and tidy (Mr OCD/anal-retentive here). Where did you put the IR receiver and the mode button? I don't think I will need to use them much but don't want to pull the dash apart again. I thought about putting in the glovebox. |

I have the IR receiver in the glovebox just dangling. I didn't hook up the mode button as it is redundant if you have the remote. You can also control the mode from the idrive controller.

I was reading your notes regarding Bimmer tech camera install. I'm trying to install the unit now but have the same problem as you did with the cic to cid cable. The cable is on the left side and as you said to short. Where did you install the multimedia unit the the cable reached? I think you said behind the air control unit. were you able to reinstall the control unit since it looks very tight. I told Bimmer tech they should add additional cable so you would could install the unit where there is room. Lots of cables that need room.

I did place the interface behind the AC panel. It is tight but it fit fine. If Bimmertech did supply a second LVDS (video) cable it would probably make the install quite a bit simpler but those are probably pretty spendy. Good luck!!
