Well now I don't feel so dumb Did you replace the temp sensor? I when I first broke one of the little tabs I superglued it back into place, then the OTHER little tab broke. I had them both superglued in ok but last time I worked on my car one of the superglued tabs broke again. I don't know if I'm better off continuing to glue it or if I should just replace the damn thing. Don't know if it's worth $80 when the part itself isn't really broken, just the dumb locking tabs!

Haha, that's AWESOME!! Now I just need to get a loaner for something. Did you break the temperature sensor as well? I was trying to figure out how to get it off but couldn't seem to separate the part from the connector leading to it.

Check out the link I had to realoem. I think the part you need is the other socket housing, part number 12527521527.

That's weird, they use the EXACT same picture on RealOEM for the DME for both the 330i and 335i. For some reason the 335i doesn't give the part number for the connector housing while the 330i one does. If they are the same it would make it way easier for my buddy to pick the thing up since he has a 330i.

you think thats the part that the 2 connectors with the wires slide into?I wish they had a picture of that.It would give me some piece of mind if I could replace that.

I really think it is because it's called a socket housing which is exactly what we are looking for and the numbers listed under "Supplement" for the 2 parts are 26 and 44 which are the amount of pins for the small and large connectors. I looked up the part on pelican parts and they were UNDER $2 so I guess if it was the wrong part it wouldn't be that big a deal. It is really stupid though that they can't just show a REAL picture of the thing! I wish someone could verify that these are indeed the part numbers, 12527521532 for the big one and 12527521532 for the small one.

isnt this the part we need for the 335i for both connectors? They require a vin to order it.

I thought you already ordered it? The part number isn't listed for the 335i but it is for the 330i and it looks to be the same part. They should be able to confirm that. How much did crown charge for shipping? Also, did you break both connectors? If not, why would you order both?

Call up Crown bmw and ask for JD, he is VERY helpful, a really cool guy. At the time that I ordered the TMAP sensor they didn't have it on their website, but he put it up on the website so that I could order it for less money while I was on the phone with him.

I did not replace it. I put a small piece of electrical tape over the broken tab. It stayed just fine. The function was normal. I don't think that you need to bother gluing them.

How much was shipping and did they require a VIN? If I knew this was the same as the 330i part I could just have my buddy get it at our local BMW parts department. May be easier.

You got that little tiny tab to hold with electrical tape? How did you manage to do that? I can't even get it to stay on with superglue. When you put it through the hole and twist to lock it puts a LOT of pressure on those little tabs!!

The part for the 335 was 9.95 plus not sure what shipping is.Im not sure why it was so much more than the one for the 330i.The order went through without a vin but that could change when its time to ship out.I hope it all works out.

Well I saw that part number but it looked like a generic placeholder number since both were the same which didn't make sense and it says for the part description that it's "available on request" making me think that wasn't the real part number. What did they say at Crown when you asked for that part? Also, did they call you back and ask for your VIN?

I really don't think that's the part number, it's just a placeholder. This is what I found when I did a search for that part on realoem: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partsearc...3&mospid=49550
