i would definitely put a complaint in...
I tried that last year when I had a run in with them and, as Pacman83 said, a complete waste of time!

In my 'yoof' I had a few run in with the Police where they claimed I was doing something I wasn't: not wearing a seat belt - I was, "driving like a race driver round a corner" - I was in my mums Rav4 it barely got to 60! ...(never got points or prosecuted for any) to name but a few...

If I had the chance to lodge a complaint I would because the majority of patrol officers think they can talk to you like you're a special needs case and they need bringing down a peg or seven.

The best way to get around this is to have a dashcam always on. Then inform the police right away that your convo is being recorded. Legally you do not have to tell them but i find it makes them a lot more friendly!! You can point the camera towards them as well to record their details. The bad cops will hate it but its not illegal in a public place. Good cops won't mind at all.

Any police officer who says its illegal to video them is bullshitting.

Glad we are on the same page Most people don't understand their natural born rights.

I was leaving a roundabout from stationary, I drove off then switch to 2nd gear at 4k rpm with a little tyre squeak noise(ran for half an hour in the gym can't handle the clutch so well) then I saw blue lights flashing behind me then I realized, yeah, it's for me as I didn't hear any siren before my shifting mistake and my car runs no cat(luckily they didn't noticed that), so I got pull over and I have been told I am a twat and say some BS like you are driving like a BMW sports car doesn't mean you can exceed the speed limit in this country(which is also not true)
the road has 40MPH speed limit there is no way that I exceeded the speed limit at that engine speed just after 1st gear.
ended up with a warning tho as I was being very nicely because I don't want any trouble unless he gives me points.
So If I recorded all this with my dash cam can I sue him for abusive word, lying and wasting my time or if I do get a ticket for dangerous driving, can I use my dash cam to speak for my self as the dash cam has the vehicle speed on it.
Cheers
You got a warning, move on. And you didn't record it anyway. Sure you have been speeding/been a twat in the past and never been stopped. Chalk it up to experience...

The video above is making me want to read up on what rights I have. In seeing that you can be stopped for careless/inconsiderate driving they can catch you on anything.

What is careless driving?

"There is no standard list of driver behaviours or poor manouevres that are considered careless but any minor breach of the Highway Code could be perceived to be an offence.

Examples include:

tailgating
failing to give way at a junction
overtaking and forcing into a queue of traffic
wrong lane at a roundabout
ignoring a lane closed sign and forcing into an orderly queue
lane hogging
inappropriate speed
overtaking on the inside
wheel spins
hand brake turns
operating a sat-nav or reading a map while driving
eating/drinking at the wheel
lane hopping/weaving
overtaking and causing an approaching vehicle or overtaken vehicle to brake"

Anything considered inconsiderate to other road users. Well take your pick!

Erm. Is this a wind up??

To be honest, if I spun the wheels in front of a copper, I would happily take a bit of a telling off rather than a charge for careless driving / not being in control.

Perhaps you should get an automatic if you are unable to control the clutch after being at the gym.

OP. you should count yourself lucky as others have said. go to the states they probably would of dragged you out of car and have you tickling your own back in cuffs

i prefer if copper will talk openly to me like using the word 'twat'.

i would rather hear twat then some overly posh word that he uses to try and be as nice as possible.

i am still shocked you thought about sueing him

I think this lads having a laugh!! Either that or he's driving his dad's car! "Can I sue the police" are you for real?

Like most of us,we've been stopped by the police. I know I have on numerous occasions and on some occasions for driving like a "twat". But there's ways in which you conduct yourself in order to not get points or a court appearance.

Are you sure you haven't got out the car, given attitude and trapped off at the Bobby causing him to speak to you in a manner in which you communicate.

Police do swear yes, I have been in plenty of company when I have heard the swearing in order to make the individual they are speaking with understand the severity of what they where doing. And come on it's not as if your driving a Saxo which automatically attracts the police attention. So to be fair was it the cleverest thing to do wheel spinning?
