It looks very good, however it seems to me it's some kind of dyno setup. No offense at all, would it make sense to direct the airflow from the rest of the stock intake directly to the cone filters ? Together with some heat shielding to the engine bay ?

Again, looks very good !

Terry,
Is there any concern that with that intake setup you will be losing power with the hood closed? It seems to me that the front cone is in th hottest part of the engine cavity and the other is not far removed. It looks like a good setup with the hood up and running with a fan on them but it seems less practical for use outside of the dyno bay. I guess we'll see when you take it on the track. Congrats on the huge numbers!
note: Eugen posted the same concern while i was typing

Heat shields, routing, etc just serve as a restriction. Hot air is better than no air, although this setup is loud and literally sucks on the street. I leave my rear cowl off so that probably helps let hot air out while on the road. As far as I'm concerned it's a dyno/track only setup.

Thank you for the explanation, Terry. Some people think I go back and forth and attack you. People, stop this, Terry and me have a very good relationship. At least I think and hope so .

Great Numbers Terry!! very impressive. Im jealous I want dyno numbers like that!!

FWIW, what was the power gain with the added cone filters? I am getting in the VIP CAI next week and i would assume that the power gains would be similiar or probably even more than the dual cone filter setup?

I didn't see your questions as an attack at all. We share a lot of information off the forum and I consider you a friend.

I'd say the cone filters in my case were worth 15rw, and the extra hot pill another 10rw.

I don't know much about the VIP intake yet but I am going to form an opinion after I see your results! 350+rw FTW?

Yep 350+rw is my goal on just 93 pump gas, JB2H, and CAI. We will see Might have to add DP's to get there, but ill have to wait and see

After i dyno with just those mods on 93, I will flip the R on with 97 and see what i put down.

Sounds good! Give it a few pulls to adapt to the 97 if possible. It takes a bit for the timing to bump up.

See his reply. I will do track testing before I make the final determination, but I think it will be better than the stock intake at the track. Despite the hot air.

Do you think JB2HH is possible on 93 octane?

I don't think so, the JB2H is pretty close to the edge as it is. But you can always try at your own risk.

I'm a bit surprised that you find the cone filters to be loud. Sucks?? I was thinking of getting a CF hood with vents to get rid of the heat (Evo style). It should'nt be too loud when cruising?

It's really bad. Actually at WOT is sounds OK, the part throttle noise is what makes it suck.

hold on... does it sound like its "sucking" all the time or does the sound just suck ie. sound like crap... I was hoping it they would make the turbo spool more noticeable and hopefully a deeper tone

by the way... ur numbers are ridiculous!! nice job T!!

Terry: Are you gonna run that setup at Fontana? Are you bringing your big slick tires? You're welcome to try my wheels/tires too (275/40/17 BFG DR's). Please bring a jack if you want to try them

I will give this filter setup a shot on the 18th. I am hoping to try my 245/45 drag radials, and then the ET Streets. I'll have a jack with me in case I want to try your setup.
