OP thanks for the post. I think it is great to see the concern about "what could happen" with the warranty involving the ONLY ERROR-FREE MOD available right now. I will let you all know if I have any problems. So far I give the experience 2 thumbs-up.

I'm not having any problems with my 335i now, but I'm glad it has a warranty anyway - you know, just in case. I just hope if my hpfp goes out, BMW doesn't try to blame my mp3 player for it.

Just because I hate one product doesn't mean Dinan is a bad company, on the contrary, I will vouch for Dinan standing behind their parts. My 3.91 differential on my M6 started to whine. I had it replaced by Dinan without any hassles what so ever. My fellow M5 / M6 owners who had the same problem also experienced the same thing from Dinan.

I think the key for the people who choose to do the Dinan flash, you need to choose your Dinan dealer carefully. The best option is to choose a BMW dealer who is mod friendly and who is also a Dinan dealer.....
+1000000, I have said it on these boards a 1000000 times, having the right dealer is absolutely key to both your general and overall ownership experience as well as your Dinan experience. With the wrong dealer, a BMW is no better to own then a 10 year old Ford.

Wait I got confused, daixloxbmw did you take your car to Dinan dealer when you have problems?

If you did that means forget Dinan waranty else maybe one thing to learn, always take your car back to Dinan dealer which installed all the mod parts.

originally, i took my car to my usual service dealership (not dinan authorized dealer) since i didn't know if the problem was dinan related or not.

naturally, this dealership pointed the finger to dinan. so they told me to take it up with the dealership that i bought/installed the dinan mods from. so i did and they are dinan authorized.

so this is when the finger pointing began... all of which took about 2.5 weeks of my time. while my car was sporatically stalling out on my steptronic car(because of the unmetered air going through my leaky intake boot caused my engine to run lean).

the second time i had dinan and bmw play the finger pointing game, my car was hiccupping and hesitating for a few months before it finally went away on its own.

Thanks for clearing it up.

Well, I guess take that Dinan waranty as "limited" and with grain-of-salt.

I just don't get BMW dealer refusing waranty work, since BMW pays for it (albeit at discounted price point).

I woul dlike to hear stan@dinan weigh-in on this....

I have been considering doing the dinan flash, along with a few mods in the spring/summer. Now that I am hearing these stories, I may consider holding off, or even changing my mind when I decide to pick up new cars in fall/winter 2008. My wife wants a Cayenne, but I may consider another upgrade as well.
