I Would be replacing mine soon. Is this kit ok? Or oem way to go? Thanks...
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...561&cc=1433813 Its interesting you changed belt and tensioner in 2013. Did you replace those again or just the pulleys?

I just finished belt, tensioner, upper and lower pulley yesterday.
Writing up a diy for all. Will be pic heavy. Apparently there is none for n54. I should be done by tomorrow end of day. Quick procedure. Drop belly pan. Raise car so you can get under it. Drain coolant....really. Remove fan bottom screw. Remove intake shroud to air filter box. Disconnect and remove out of way rad to ofh pipe. Remove expansion bottle line. Remove rad fan upper screw. Get fan out....2 clips....what a 2nd clip. Remove pipe from ofh top end....hose that goes below to tstat. Unclip hose and ac condensor line. Front of engine. Unscrew fmci left pipe anchor screw.....shit that was before fan removal. Unscrew air duct in front of engine but do not remove....just pull it toward....to give you room. Now map...draw belt orientation. Remove belt. Remove upper and lower pulley and tensioner. Reinstall pulleys first and tension last. Reinstall new belt. Now put it back together. As soon as you put that DIY up im doing it...my car is squealing from the belt at first I thought it was the oil from my oil filter housing and cooler so I replaced the gaskets and O ring but the sound is still there so im just replacing the whole belt assembly next

There is a longitudal razor blade thin crack along your belt caused by the power steering pump pulley's inside teeth being damaged and/or missing. Do not replace with oem plastic pulley, replace with metal ppwer steering pulley and be sure the pulley does not contact subframe on potholes. Otherwise it will happen again and again... You can order metal power steering pulleys from ecs tuning. Cheaper than plastic. The plastic one can crackle and chip away even new from the box if not careful handling it. Same symptoms.... 4x I changed my belt and pulleys to no effect... then saw the power steering pulley issue. |
