Thanks mate. The difference are the outer rings of the dials where in 6 cylinder ones they light up due to being shorter. Also the display size is different, the 6 cylinder one is bigger and can display more information.

6 Cylinder:

I will also change mine to white LED's with m3 ring's. Going for OEM M3 look.

So, got plenty of packages this week related to work being done next week, but went with few things ahead.

I swapped the black ugly steering wheel plastic and replaced it with real high gloss carbon trim. It was hard to fit as its not flexible at all compared to plastic, but it was worth the effort - looks GREAT in person!

(sorry for the large image, rest will be in attachments)

Also fitted my LCI headlight switch.

Other then that, getting prepared for audio install next week so got some more of silent sound deading coats and got some dynamats to further improve the door cards. The bass is even deeper then before! Can't wait to install the rest of the system!

As you can also see I bought the C110 Scanner and BMW e90 Haynes manual which will help me to work on the car.

More updates coming soon!

EBC Brakes, Better sound deading, strut brace

Finally got round to do some work on the car, even in this shitty weather.

Got some more of the silent coats and went further with laying more coats under the speaker. Got some acoustic foam and stuck it with upholstery glue. Panels fit back in perfectly and results are amazing. Not just improved the bass in sound system, but reduced the road noice!! Going to do the same to rear panels too.

Bought the strut brace from Theivz. Fits perfectly, now just need to paint the covers red!

And the new EBC Blackseries discs with Greenstuff pads are great!

More updates coming soon!

Oh yeah, and my car got a profile on this cool site with car projects!

New exhaust!

So, got the exhaust done today and I love it! Im surprised in how the performance improved - never expected to really feel anything.

So the road trip begins!

Exhaust fitted.

More photos soon, when the car will be clean again.
Thanks Theivz!

Nice build thread mate - where did you get the carbon steering wheel cover from? Also did you remove the airbag to install? Was thinking about wrapping mine in carbon style vinyl but the real stuff looks so good!

Like what you've done, but not a fan of the exhaust though. You need 6 or 8 cylinders and way more oomph to show that off. I just went for a nice twin rear on my 4 pot diesel

Yeah, I got the 216 Motorsport alloys but thinking to sell them and get a set of new 19"s. Got few in mind.

Cheers mate! I got the steering wheel cover from ebay. Link Also to install it you're not required to remove the airbag but I found the install to be fiddly as the material isn't flexible like plastic and have to do some stretching although its worth the bother as it feels and looks really good! Good quality as well!

Will be selling same brand new trim like this soon.

At the start I thought the exact same thing and was gonna go for just two pipes, but since I got a bargain with this exhaust - I went for it. I don't regret it! Fair enough its 4 cyl but I went more for the appearance on this one and really is impressive, when see it in person.

Yes defiantly, was planning to do that earlier but a lot to do with them as they'll be taken apart, cleaned all up powdered, new seals and new paint. Will probably go for darker red, but still considering blue, although red fits the colour scheme that I'll be going for with this project.

Few more shots of the new exhaust:

I guess it's a mater of taste. I was gonna go for 335 style, although too common now.

Cheers.

wow love it ... progressing really nicely! I can see the vision lol. The exhaust is different and bold but with the right rims will look really good. How do you like the sound?

Dont worry about the negative comments - everyone if entitiled to their own opinion and more importantly some people dont have your vision

Mine was a 320d too but IMO it sounded really good and looked even better

Once your rims are on and its lowered it'll look something like this. What do you think about tail light tints?

I don't know why but the exhaust looks ten times better on Theivz car, the pre LCI 'loon just can't pull it off.

I think the 335 style would have suited better & been more subtle. It looks a bit 'Halfordsesque' ATM..
