It looks like the RPI intercooler is thicker and taller, but not as wide as the stock unit (at least the heat exchanger portion of it).

From what i hear it is pretty restricting... I guess VIP saw gains from modding the charge pipes from the stock IC... Its in a thread somewhere around here... Also the spearco one replaces all the piping so there must be a reason for it...

one simple reason for replacing the pipes - so the IC maker doesn't have to spend money to recreate the factory fittings on each end of the IC...
RPI went the extra step to do this using CNC milling machinery.

good question, plus you have to take air velocity and the diameter of the charge air manifold (#10) going into the hot side of the IC into account.

I saw that. We been making intercoolers for the Noble M400, M12, Opel GT, 996tt, etc. for some time now and I have never seen the logo put on this way. The sprayer must haver drank too much at new years. Someone is going to get an ear full.

RPI just informed me and i had totally forgot. They dyno'ed with a 70MPH fan and got their 20-26whp gain results, the dyno i went to was around a 30MPH fan, so in a real life scenario, i would get the 20-26whp especially because i did the dyno in 3rd gear.

We found no need to change the factory couplers. If a coupler change is going to add hp...................hmmm.

The RPI is deeper than stock and fits snugly against it. No clip/clamping needed.
