I ordered my e92 335 Jan 4th, and just found out that it is in production and will be completed Jan 17th!! I feel so excited. Congrat to myself and to all of you guys! It will be my second e9x!!!

i ordered my 2008 328i sedan at around dec 21, 2007. The last time I gave them a call, they said they already ordered it. So, I will be calling them again to follow up, and to give me a rough estimate when im getting it

i had a lot more luck with my 330i than i do with my 335. i placed order on my E90 on 11/05/2005 and the car was at the dealership on 12/15/05!! i was amazed.

i was kind of hoping for the same luck with my current order but that didn't turn out to be the case. ordered 12/28/07, car went into production on 1/10 with estimated completion date of 1/15/08. i don't expect to take delivery before the 1st or 2nd week of march

Is that what the CA told you? Usually it's only about 6 weeks from order to pick up. Hopefully you will get the car in February.

when i ordered he said end of february - beginning of march. it sounds like he was right.

if the car is done on 1/15, it still has to get to the port of exit, wait for a ship, get across the atlantic, sit in NJ for a few days, get across the US and finally get prepped at the dealership. i think that all will take at least 5-6 weeks

I know the feeling TJW...

I checked the ships leaving Bremerhaven and it looks like a little wait...There is a ship leaving the 15th but I think we probably won't get to the docks till 16th or 17th. The next ship is the "Emden" leaving on the 22nd. Its a K-line ship and not an MM, and I'm not sure that BMW uses K-line. The next MM ship is the 29th. The next week or two will be tough waiting until it boards a ship. The car just sitting at the port is very frustrating

I just called up my dealer today, they said they couldnt fit my order in the January production. So now it has been confirmed that is in the February production. So I will end up getting it by the end of march

I thought they had a shipping line dedicated for west coast deliveries? Does the boat still land on the east coast? Now that I think about it it makes sense to land on the east side, but then why have a separate carrier?

I've got a E93 on order.

Last I heard it was status 112 as of 1/7/08 when I ordered it. Managed to get the dealers' production slot.

My CA hasn't sent me a production number though (was blacked out on the fax I recieved for order confirmation) Is this common? Should I be concerned, or am I being a bit paranoid? I sent him an e-mail about it last week and didn't recieve a reply.

Production is scheduled to finish today (1/14). If it doesn't make it on a ship until Feb I might lose my mind.

Still don't have a scheduled production date... They still say it will go into production next week even though it doesn't have a scheduled date. I just hope its next Monday not next Friday Then maybe it will be on a boat by the end of a month then a month to get to me. I just want it before March, fingers crossed.

i guess it could go though panama canal or around asia but that would take significantly longer than just dropping it off on the east coast and ground-transport it to destinations.

some dealers still live in the 80s so you may want to call him up instead of emailing him. he should definitely give you the production number the second he places your order (which apparently happened on 1/7).

it's really weird he would black out the number on your order confirmation though. that does sound a bit shady. again, give him a call and see what's up.

if you skim through some of the posts in this thread (or a million other similar threads) you'll see this is really not that uncommon. i waited about 2.5 weeks to get a production date. and it will take a full month from order to completed production.

some people just get lucky and grab a production slot right away (like me 2 years ago).

btw, i so regret not getting "xi" now. i spent over two grand on navi but was too cheap to throw in additional two for AWD. damn it!

That's funny. If I were in Cali, i'd have probably gotten RWD. AWD up here is an absolute must. I saw a RWD 535 today doing (unintentional) doughnuts in the middle of the road. Surprise 12" storms pwn us.
