Also factor in depreciation. Anything with modifications will drop in value quite dramatically compared to the M3, which for a while at least will be in fairly short supply.

I'll take my 335i. According to the pricing and the way my car is optioned out, a fully loaded E90 M3 is $20k more. Sure it has EDC DCT blah blah blah, it is still $71k and some change.
It will be a great car no doubt but it won't be worth $20k more than what I already have(to me). With that said I highly anticipate BMW flooding the market with these puppies like they have done with every M that has come out in the last 3 years. If I'm able to get a nice discount or lease payment it will be bye bye 335i! |

Although Modded 335i are amazing. . . They can't touch the new M3. Just wait till people start modding those

id been wanting an M3, but also love turbo engine, but if you put turbo in an M3 it woundn't be cheap that for sure... since 335i has turbo i'll wait and see what aftermarket mods M3 will offer...

To me 335i and M3 both are priced correctly. I would never do warranty voiding mods to 'enhance' the performance of my 335. If i wanted more performance (and the m3 sedan was out at the time), i would have gotten the m3. right now I wish i got the 325i (not 328i in japan) as i could probably push it more at day to day driving, like my old e36 328i

Add LSD, brakes, suspension, chip, seats, handling tweaks (tighter steering...), possible tranny adjustments -- 335 would be much more expensive... |
