I've been picky about color and options .. And before I knew that cpo stays with the car I wouldnt look at one with those kinda miles b/c any BMW needs some warranty for me to buy it.. .. But I think in got one . Loaded convenice pkg winter pkg ..
Dallas BMW has a nice one but with oyster interior that would be too much upkeep for me...
Sorry to derail the thread but the standard manufacturer warranty will like time out soon so the only real value would be to have the option to extend through BMW (but I've heard good things about Route 66 warranties). Color and options are something that you have to be happy with though. I'm not picky on color except I don't want black. Needs to have comfort access, nav, paddles, HK sound, and cold weather.

No worries. I wasn't too keen on the X1 at first, but my wife really liked it and it's her car. After a week of ownership it's definitely grown on me, especially the orange. That 8 speed truly is wonderful.

I've been offered $16k at 2 different Dodge dealerships a while ago. I had like 70k miles at the time. I hope the Chevy dealer will offer me at least $20k in a month when it's time to part ways. I'd be at 90k miles by then. NADA values me at $21k while KBB is $18k.

I've found dealerships always find some excuse about KBB or any other value guide. It seems they have some "secret" value book that they use. This has been across the board in different states.

Dealers where I've been involved use the "Black Book."

In a way, "trade-in value" SHOULD be, in the public's mind, "wholesale price" but in reality, what dealers need to do to stay in business is pay as low a price as possible.

I would more accurately call the price the dealer wants to pay the "auction price" where a car's value is determined by what it gets at a used car auction. If the car is valuable and desired, the auction price is paid. If not, such as a car that has problems or an unpopular model, the dealer sells at auction or sells it to an auction company making it even have a lower price.

Changing cars every 3 or 4 years is a popular way of owning by many. Very popular with dealers too.
