Back to the topic- I think you would struggle to acheive a sub 8 min lap. Although it has the power for the Dottinger and Kesselchen it would struggle with braking and cornering.
My brother's civic type-R is maybe a little bit similar. A lot of fun to drive. Modded to 250bhp and louder than thunder. It does have a stereo and I think AC though.

Nice clean lap and luckily an empty track!

Standard brakes and tyres?

Really?

204bhp car vs 150bhp and the bmw goes 2 seconds faster on a clear track?
Given the relative performance Id say that it's what I'd expect. Even says in his video he could have gone faster. In fact it shows how good 90's honda engineering was compared to bmws 15 years later.

The CRX is a bag of laughs to drive but lack the sheer power needed on the Nurburgring.

It's just amazing how much easier it can be with some extra power but then the CRX is light.

I think the CRX is about 400kg lighter, that will more than make up for its shortfall in power

Exactly, which is why them being 2 seconds apart is what id expect. The CRX is probably closer to 500kgs lighter and id expect performance to be similar. Given the high speed nature of the track it would lose out on the straights but gain under braking and cornering.

Yeah but the CRX has a higher power to weight ratio, so I would of thought it would be the quicker car.

Doesn't help when fighting air resistance though.

in regards to power/weight - being lighter only helps acceleration, power is whats needed to get a higher speed, and there are plenty of occasion where 150bhp is not enough around the ring.

In the Integra I was hitting around 125mph on the back straight (when the car will easily achieve 140mph) but it just didnt have the power to go any faster up the hills. Given the torque of the diesel, it will defy its weight disadvantage too, as the bmw will have a better torque/wight ratio id imagine.

Yes it's the Torque profile thinking about it. The Diesel should have a good wide quickly accessible power band. The Honda needing to keep the revs up to get it's peak power. I expected the Honda to be quicker.

On a track you are up the top of the band anyway. Power is king, always on a track. Look at F1 cars. They have puny torque!

Looks like the driver is fighting to survive in that honda. Those sorts of speed in a car like that on Nurburgring ? Thats some scary shit.
