FSD/Eibachs will give for the best ride quality. Yellows/H&R's will give for a good ride quality (not the best, but still good)/more aggressive stance (lower)/better handling (not the best, but still good). |

Search for Fraggy's posts on H&R with FSDs.
Search for inthemiddle's posts on Eibach prokit with FSDs. Finally, search for Orb's posts on stock sport springs with FSDs. Results are telling... ![]()

Oh, its a certainty. They are more than strong enough to tame the H&Rs. They are adjustable and give you the ability to set them as tight as is needed to keep the body still.

I would think maybe even better, but I have NOTHING to base it on other than previous experience on an E46 that I had Bilstein Sports with H&R Sports. It was one hell of a car. On the E90, I dont know if the Bilstein/H&R match up works as well.
Read Chowbows thread regarding his Bilstein HDs and Eibach Pro Kit. It sounds like a great route to go as well.

I like my Bilsteins FWIW. Not too popular in the E90 world for some reason, but I prefer the "feel" of them over Konis...

Ok I went with the Koni Yellow with my H&R sports and you guys were right...huge difference. I still need to play around with the adjustments but it's kind of a pain having to move the strut brace every time. Did most of you run the koni's on the factory soft?

I bought the Koni's from **********s.com for $650. As for the install, I have a buddy who is a bmw tech so he only charged me $100 for the install. The only CO I would consider would be the KW or Bilstein and those will run you $1600ish plus the install. I think you will be happy with the H&R koni setup.

$650+300+400 kw's you can do for about $1900 installed are the kw's $550 better than the koni+h&r combo?

Just buy the Dinan 335i suspension that is now available. Designed to match both components and take the guess work out of your decision. Custom tuned Koni struts/shocks with custom spring rates to match their dampening values.

If money is no option I would go with the CO's. You seem to be in the same situation as a lot of us in that you bought the H&R's first and put them on and figured out how bad the ride is. If you want to continue in the route you're going and get the best ride go with the Koni's. This would save you a little bit and you wouldn't have to try and sell the H&R's which would only be worth $100 maybe $150 if your lucky. Some people on here will claim that the handling of the Koni/H&R setup is equivelant to that of a CO and as for everyday driving, I'm not sure that you will be able to notice a difference either. Maybe someone can chime in who has run both on the E90/92.

Koni FSD are not recommended, FSD are designed to work with full stroke length (this means: stock height), and i heard from several Mini FSD users, that their FSD /Lowering spring combination started leaking after several months.
Koni Yellows are the way to go! |

why not just buy the H&R cup kit? Don't they have the perfect match for the spring, and they are around $700.00, much cheaper than these other combos?
