sounds like a case on anti piracy being inhibitive for genuine users. surely people who crack applications can patch that sort of validation out.

I think it would help many of us if you could spell out where your product/service excels over Cobb. To me they sound identical, except you use an Android device rather than the Cobb handheld device.

Are the maps locked? Can they be edited with Access Tuner Race?

Will Wedge/BQ be able to use this to tune our vehicles?

Well, not needing the Cobb hardware saves you about 600 bucks, so there's a huge difference right there. As stated, the maps are VIN locked. Tuning by Wedge is offered as a premium service.

Can I ask you something though, are you happy with the Alpina TCU flash? Would you mind terribly shooting me a pm how you feel about it?

If the 24 hr time limit has expired how would I upload my custom modified map? Do I need to re-purchase the flasher module for a second 24 hour period, or just reconnect it to the internet to revalidate it?

I hear your concerns about the 24h check. This is the default behavior of the Google Store in app purchases. I will edit the FAQ to state:
1) Any purchase is a one time purchase, no need to buy it again.
2) I will implement a secondary, more flexible licence check because like CarAbuser states, any system that is a inhibitive for genuine users is not acceptable.

With all the fixes Ken made and the new tables recently identified, the open maps (xdd based) format the MHD Flasher is using has now more possibilites than proprietary, closed format solutions. Using Tuner Pro and xds definitions files is simply the future of our platform, that's where the innovations will be.
The built-in maps you can flash within the app are not provided with the sources. This is the trade-off I had to make for the low priced, flexible purchases model the MHD Flasher is using.
Wedge/BQ are the only Advanced Tuner for the MHD Flasher. All in all, an Advanced tuning by Wedge/BQ plus the MHD Flasher remains cheaper than any other tuning offer running an off the shelf map.

So a purchaser cannot edit the built in maps at all?

Only the ones customized by Ken - those are able to be modified using tunerpro?

Have I got that right?

That's what I interpret.

The maps that are built-in to the flashing module cannot be changed.

Any other map should be able to modify using Tuner-pro.

iOS support would require the use of a custom bluetooth OBD adapter. It is not going to happen any time soon, if ever. For the moment a cheap Android tablet would be my recommandation.

You are right but please note that Advanced tuners like WedgePerformance will likely operate with locked maps. User maps are edited with Tuner-pro.

Very noob question, but is a BT cable considered a K+Dcan cable?

EDIT: will this work with a BT cable? I have one that I have VIN locked to my car.

No. Eventually the option for BT cable might be added, but that's up to MHD. I don't think a $20 INPA cable will brake the bank. You can also hit me up if you need to download the BMW coding tools when you get your INPA cable.

I think it is about time....while we are waiting quick question.

Will this MHD Android App be similar in function to the JB4 App which allows us to view boost gauge, and an assortment of other gauges while we are cruising around town on our cell phones or tablets?

If not can we still use the JB4 app as a boost gauge while we run MHD Flash?

This is all on the first page of the questions. He has logging features as well gauges built in.

Monitor your engine behavior using a configurable gauges layout to keep on eye on any of the 40+ engine monitors like Oil temp, boost pressure, actual load or individual cylinder ignition timing. Activate the logging mode to save up to 19 monitors to a standard CSV file for later analysis. Track issues by reading the error codes, and delete them once resolved.
