That can be due to numerous reasons. Possibly debt built up while being unemployed before the disability, put kids through college if she has any, lost it all in Vegas, etc.

I know some folks who are in their 40s-50s with basically no money saved up, granted they're the first generation to live in the U.S.

Man, I can see this happening to a teenager, but damn...I guess everyone wants an M! I bet the salesman saw a nice commission check when the lady walked in. And lol at putting a brand new Acura TSX as a down payment and payment still that high.

She is a great example of what's wrong with our society. Myself being a paraplegic, it makes me very irrate with some people and their "disabilities". I may give her the benefit of the doubt and perhaps its something we can't "see" like a heart condition, cancer, who knows.

But if that disability check is from social security (it may be from another source, I don't know), she must have one hell of a disability. Although if I remember correctly, there are two different forms of soc sec disability, her's probably being the other as I only get about 800 or so a month from them and I'm paralyzed! Of course, the Veteran's Affairs and military pay me the rest of the compensation, but social security doesn't give you shit I've learned.

But back on topic, I don't feel sorry for her one bit. People who don't live within their means and know it, are complete idiots and deserve whatever comes to them. I know if I only made 2,500 a month I wouldn't even set foot in that dealership!

If I were the salesman and every word out of my mouth was completely FALSE with the exception of down payment ($30k) and her monthly payment of ($1,300) then she signs the paperwork and drives the car home, it is COMPLETELY her fault. She know's she makes $2,500 bucks per month. She know's she is taking here retirement money for the down payment.
So even if everything on the application was FALSE just to get her approved, she is still the idiot who accepted a $1,300 monthly payment she can't afford.

Should a dealer report false income to get approvals? No. If they do, it is still your fault if you sign the paperwork and drive that car home.
