The ship was scheduled for 6 p.m. - it's got to be within 20 miles of port now unless its going to be late. I was thinking of driving down this afternoon to wave hi, but . . . I decided not to.

It looks like Port Hueneme pushed back the arrival date in Oxnard from the 17th to the 18th.

Here she is. Now, the red arrow usually means her engines are off, but I think maybe there is some radar issues going on here. She's on the fringes of the SD radar, so I think that might be the reason her arrow is red.

ON the SDMIS site the vessel schedule still show aphrodite leader as "To Arrived" instead of "In Port" I wonder if they update their schedule that much... wonder when it will leave port and head to Port Hueneme

I think they update it once a day. If you look at the top, the current schedule online is dated the 15th. I just don't think they've updated it yet today. And/or maybe they don't update it on the weekends.

For those of you who live outside of the SoCal area, Wagoneer Trucking (who is the trucking co that BMW uses) has a 800 number you can call and they will tell you if your car is on one of their trucks, and if it is, give you an ETA at the dealership. I did this for my own car two years ago (it was a Mercedes, who uses another trucking co) and they let me know where my car was from the moment it was delivered from the VPC to the truck yard in Long Beach, the whole way to the dealership in UT. My car ended up being delivered to the dealership in the middle of the night, so when I got up at 6 a.m. the day of delivery, I already had an email from the trucking co that my car was delivered in the night. I knew my car was there before the dealership even opened for the day.
Wagoneer has a similar set up. If you search for Ship Bellona on this forum (from last June or July), you will find the 800 number in that thread. It was a hugely popular tracking thread I was on last summer and you will find lots of guys who were calling Wagoneer for updates and Wagoneer was very helpful. Their phone number is in that thread somewhere (look towards the end pages when deliveries were taking place). |

Yes, look up several posts to the map above that I posted last night. She arrived in SD last night. I just can't see what she is doing this morning because AIS is down. I just keep getting a page saying "Server is too busy."

So, I maybe went to check out the Aphrodite Leader in the San Diego Harbor today (well, we went to the beach and just happened to decide to go to Coronado - honest).
The Aphrodite Leader sitting at port: ![]() Just in case you can't read the name: ![]() And if you look behind the ship in the next picture, you can see a couple rows of cars - I assume those cars are what's being unloaded, but who knows? I couldn't find a way to get close to the ship on the side of the bay it was on. ![]() At least it's on this side of the country now and making its way to L.A. and beyond. |
