haha! me too. I use to live in Clarendon/Ballston areas.

At night and weekends, I would jump into the M and rip up and down the entire GW Parkway from I495 all the way down to Mt. Vernon. Great memories.

Haha, my comment sounded really bad. I'm sorry.

A kid of mine had night terrors for a time. Poor thing cried for hours straight while not being awake or asleep. Those months (I'm aware most cases are rougher, so my hat is off to those parents) are my definition for being tired.

When I fuck up, other people suffer and the pressure gets overwhelming at times. Sure, when I get something right and I see the person rising back to their feet feels better than anything but that happens rarely. When it all becomes too much, I wait for the Saturday morning and take off.

I suppose I am lucky enough to have two routes to and from work. I can take the jammed motorway and my commute would be 25 minutes, or for 30 minutes, I have an alternative seaside route:

Yes sir. I actually go in late and leave late to avoid the traffic.

Driving has absolutely been my drug of choice since I was 16. I use it for the same reasons almost everyone in here has already listed. It's something almost no one else around me will ever understand. On this forum, yes, but out there almost no one gets it. Me and buddy cruise around aimlessly almost every weekend. It's not that there's nothing else to do, it's that there's nothing we'd rather do.

As long as there's no traffic, I usually like to roll down all the windows and open the sunroof for that open air feeling... I would've liked a convertible, but I didn't think it was practical at the time. Besides, the car seats are much more comfortable than any of the chairs in this dump.

This is my favorite road, RT 218 between West Point and Cornwall in upstate NY. Lots of curves along side a mountain . I miss both the car and the road

Yeah, I am. Two weeks ago I drove to Cali and back, though I stayed in la for the night, I only got a solid three hours of sleep. Then I drove back.

The next weekend I drove my family to Yellowstone over night.

Last summer I drove from NJ to Chicago, and a few other longer and shorter distances, if I need a complete reboot, I take off and 800 miles fly by. In no way do I mean I always drive straight, so taking off from here, so the way back can be shorter too.

I love my car and it truly is a huge relief for me sometimes.

That spot is awesome. Going downhill towards 9A on those curves on the bike is a great bonding experience between man and machine

Definitely.. Last break-up I went soaring on the highway at night.. Chill music on, no other people on the road and just cruising.. So relaxing Kinda the same when I go on holiday with my gf.. She has to take these anti car sickness pills that make her fall asleep in 5 minutes flat.. So it's just me and the road

Definitely! Nothing better than a dark open road, when the biggest issue becomes should I listen to the engine or blast some tunes.

Totally relate to this. Starting out on my own is probably the most stressful thing I did. I've had many nights without a second of sleep. To wind down I started to go for late night drives which helped.
