Yes, they are based in Asia, but that doesn't mean anything so why bring it up? I can say this, almost everything is done in house. They don't farm out the machining like other turbo builders. They have higher quality controls and that shows in the quality of there turbos.

It's important to note, turbos operating at high pressure levels require special oil. I highly recommend a high zinc oil to ensure you are providing the safest oil when operating the turbos at a high boost level.

As I said I'm not demoting their turbo's, was initially curious as I had incorrectly assumed hexon were a us based co, so when i read everything was done inhouse i had incorrecty assumed it was now a made in the usa operation. Some googling established hexon are based in Taiwan so that makes sense!

As I mentioned I'm not knocking on their product, BC are made in Taiwan and produce some great BFYB products.

Have fun with them and you're making good power

Wedge you guys endorse Hexon?
So far they seem to be legit. I have 2k on them and they hold boost to redline regardless of what I demand.

I don't recommend anyone running them has hard as I do. They'll make a good 500 to 550 whp without much effort.

Is that a port injection kit on the car? Sorry for the newb question.

Edit: Sorry, I see it in the mod list on the first post.
Dyno video's are a PITA because I don't let anyone operate my car when I'm on the dyno. I just rent the dyno for a few hours at a time.

Great results Ken!

Since you guys have experience tuning both the RR500 and RR550 setups, where would you say the cutoff is between choosing one or the other? For instance; those that have basic bolt-ons currently and want to swap out tired stock turbos, but are not interested in going over stock TMAP limitations, etc. Would there be any benefit in going with the 550s in that case? Do the 550s spool fast enough and hold power to redline better than the 500s in most cases to make them the default choice in most instances?

RR500s are discontinued I believe. The RR550 is the replacement.

Timing fell off due to IATs so it would have made well over 600 at that PSI with more timing. @ 25 psi they make over 550, but again at low timing.

I have an AT so 600+ wtq is not an option, thus the lower timing.

I remember seeing the Hexon turbos on FleaBay a long time ago. I'm glad someone that has the ability to test these and provide great factual data has done so. Subbed

The high zinc/phosphorous oils seem to be making a big difference with the upgraded thrust (steal on steal) applications.

I'd personally recommend 5w40 MOTUL 300v
Is the motul 300v Bmw ll01 like motul 8100 excess which is what I use and love

MOTUL 300v probably won't be included in the BMW LongLife-01 like MOTUL 8100 because it won't meet emissions standards.

I read it's one of the best oils though
