Well it seems the letter from the WA magistrates court did the trick and I'm getting $1200 towards some tyres and the key is on its way. Shame that buying a bimmer should turn into a shitfight but that's life I guess

Even though legally you have bought a mislead and deceptive product due to something not appearing on car as described ie: such as runflats, I would have not bothered about the tyres as it is better for the car to not have them. Most people stay away from runflats unless they are incapable of changing a tyre. Your suspension and chassis would thank you for not having run flats. A little inconvienient perhaps knowing there is no spare but like mates have mentioned, repair kits are everywhere. However, I would complain about the spare key for sure. If it is easier for them, purchase a brand new one from bmw and send the bill to them or get a refund of $600 off the purchase price of the car. My mate recently bought a lemon vw r36 from a sa dealer, he resides in vic.. He gave the car back in plus got his transportations fees back as the dealer sold him a r36 with a faulty dsg problem. Dealers are afraid of ACCC and you need to put them in their place when needed. Good to hear they have come to your terms. Enjoy the car in good health and ask for help when needed. Ciao!

Good tyres to consider are falken 453s, continental 5ps, and michelin pss. Listed from cheapest to dearest. If runflats are a must, pirelli p zero all the way. I ditched runflats 3 years ago and will never go back. Currently running falken 453s because i need durability less than grip at the moment. If you love going fast, continentals are the way to go. Michelins are a lovely but a waste of money for street use.

Great news!

However, I actually like runflats from the point of view that if you get a flat they are just more user friendly.
When I got a flat in my 335, I just slowly drove to Bob Jane and an hour and $80 later I was able to drive out all OK.
I didn't get me suit dirty or waste time with slime etc.

They have gotten considerably better over the years.
I do agree they aren't as good, but unless you are driving hard, there's not that much difference.
We put PZero runflats on the X5 and they were way better than the Bridstone's it came with.

No way, the ride comfort is much much better with normal tyres. You don't crash over bumps and its so much more comfortable. Don't have to be driving hard to enjoy the benefits of swapping out the runflats.

I agree with you on p zero rfts being better than bridgestone rfts and I know how well they handle. However a sidewall stiffness of a rft will kill ur wheels and suspension in long term. The oem 19s in addition to rfts are designed for german roads, not uk or australia. Hence why the least you can do protect your baby in this country with that setup is be to be soft on the car by ditching rfts and watching out for anything else. Or go 18s and run 40 profile tyres for peace of mind.. Last thing you want is a wheel cracking at high speed or a tyre failing. Trust me you don't want to be there.. safety first.

Merry Xmas all
Spare key fob (or key) they sent won't open the doors - you gotta laugh
Still haven't decided whether to switch to stock rft's yet
While i'm here - will 19 inch tyres fit my 193 spoke rims or is it 18's max?

Are you being serious with that question about whether 19" tyres will fit 18" rims?
