I don't think the DISA valves throw a light at all. that all depends on the error's type code. I'm pretty sure the DISA errors are 01, which means it logs it but doesn't trigger the MIL.

Then what keeps a 325 from throwing the codes if the wires are all there...software?

Can codes 2AA8 and 2AA9 refer to anything other than DISA1 and DISA2?

Yes, the 325 software do not expect to find the Disa valves.

I bet that DMTL code is the one that actually tripped the SES light since it's emissions related.

So the 2AA8 and 2AA9 were likely "silent" codes that only came up because of the DMTL...interesting...

the DISA codes can't trigger the CEL. they don't have the error type code that triggers the light. DMTL does however so you only found the DISA codes when you scanned the car because the DMTL had been triggered.

they were probably always there but you didn't know it.

Ok, the new intake got here today. I am using the new DISA valves I bought just to be safe. Now I need help. I waited so long for the parts to come and had to clear my work bench to complete another job. Now I can't find my notes!!!
I can't remember how the 4 electrical connector by the CCV (put a new one on) go. They all look the same and the connectors are the same. Does the order matter? Help!!

If I remember correctly when I rebuilt my 3IM and CCV system it doesn't matter. The 4 pin is just a power splitter that sends power from the input line to the 3 other heater connectors.

Did you get everything figured out with regards to your 2AA8 code? I'm randomly getting a CEL months after buttoning everything up and I'm worried I missed something. I bought a new small DISA and a used large DISA valve when I rebuilt it. I tried to be as careful as I could but I may have missed something.
