what exactly do you want to know?

only issue with inlets with pump gas... your prob gonna have to run reduced timing to push more boost in? so really u need to talk to a tuner if your not running meth or e85...

also need to worry about IAT....so i got good FMIC... that was one of the more expensive mods..

mmp got a stock dyno 500 whp with inlets... but you have to remember has supporting mods like e85... hes got big FMIC with 3" charge pipe...

Interesting way to number your questions...

1. Custom
2. Free
4. Perfect
5. Love the sound, performance, and exclusivity
3. Yes

This may not be the most helpful response but maybe it will inspire you to build and install your own!

Thanks, Sk55.

Wow...E85 is becoming more and more appealing. I just installed my 7" VRSF FMIC last night. I got to test it today and man...what a difference in the mid-range. I also have a VRSF CP + Tial BOV, along with BMS DCI.

I believe we in Australia already get a somewhat beefier fan due to being "hot climate version". Hopefully soon we might get access to the cooling-related tables including fan speed so can get a bit more control over the fan speed like the JB4's max cool setting but more control than on or off. I think the factory fan is capable of a lot of flow but the DME tells it to run at a low duty cycle.

MMP inlets

Self install

Inlets are very impressive for power gains on stock turbos and easy install

I made 545awhp/510awtq at 23psi. Inlets have not been flow tested if that is what you were referring to.

I built/installed 2 inlets systems on my 535xi E61 and a set of VTT inlets on another 535xi E61. It sucked, especially the VTT ones, I was doing turbos at the same time on that wagon so the subframe was dropped and allowed me to lower/tilt the engine forward to allow extra space to get the rear inlet in.

E6X cars are the worst, saying the 335xi is easier is like saying it is better to shoot yourself in the foot than in the the leg. Inlets will be busting the knuckles of mechanics and DIY mechanics for years to come.

Picking mine up tomorrow, like the above post said, subframe was lowered so the engine would tilt to allow more room for the rear inlet. Had a shop do it and it's costing 850 including a broken downpipe clamp and some coolant that was lost in the process... So not cheap

I have access to a hoist and was going to do this myself, with the help of a mechanic friend. Keep us updated on how it goes.

quality and benefits aside, i think all inlets in the market currently look terrible. ruins the look of the engine bay.

Vrsf inlets $270
Install $500
Holding up fine after some headaches ( coolant hose fitment was not fun, brackets didn't fit right)

If I had to do it again, I would get PR or do something custom fabricated.

Where are you finding PR's inlets? Do you have a link? Just ordered MM inlets last night and might try to switch if they're better
