The install sucks!!! I would definitely drop the subframe completely and disconnect your steering rack at the knuckle( if you have a lift). That made the job so much easier.

Yes complete M3 subframe with M3 driveshaft mated to a 335i gearbox flange + M3 LSD pumpkin (you have so much choice of good LSD for this pumpkin) + M3 beafy half shafts is the way I took and I don't regret
and you get M3 brakes and all M3 arms as a bonus |

Will someone please find a competent drive shaft source for the 335i. I have upgraded axles from dss but would prefer to use a different company after my experience with my axles...

I'm going to do driveshaft if and when it brakes. I'm hoping at 675 hp/tq with lsd, lsd lockdown, extra hard subframe bushings, and kw coil overs I'll minimize wheel hop and hopefully not small axes and driveshafts.

To summarize my 3 month dilemma, the first time they came the axle nuts wouldn't go back on because the ends were too damaged. Next they sent me axles that were too short (I think they were for a 135i) and the third time the ball bearings were out of place so they wouldn't compress. It had blue loctite everywhere and it was missing two clamps to hold on the boot. Needless to say I ended up taking them elsewhere before I could install them. Anyway, I'm not going to deal with that again. |

Replied to you on the other forum but best to use a 2.56 gear since the DCT doesn't function correctly with the 3.15 gear. Another member tried it and ended up having to move to the stock ratio 2.56 gear.

Is there a custom tune for when you upgrade the clutches or do you just bolt them in? |

If you source the parts & wait for a deal you'll be much happier in the end. I got my M3 differential & axles with 4k miles on them for 1100.00 & the 1 piece carbon fiber driveshaft was around 1500.00. Just a differential from any company will cost 2800+ & you wont get axles or driveshaft.
If you want M3 controls arms than buy Trw as they make the M3 arms. Complete kit is less than 350.00. Last edited by M-335; 10-06-2016 at 10:05 PM.. |

Believe the brakes are the same as the 335i.

M3 brakes are bigger than 335i but smaler than the cheaper f30 upgrade. Most m3 rear suspension partsdo nothing to improve stuff but cost more. Aftermarket parts here are often a huge improvement over m3 and cheaper. Case in point siubframe bushings, rear toe control, etc. I have 675 hp now. No need for driveshaft. Yes you want a rear diff lockdown and super stiff subframe bushings. I'm using ake black rated 95, lockdown kit, and wavetrac lsd with kwv2 coils and 305/30-19 Bridgestone Potenza RE11 tires on 19x11 et 43 wheels. Hope this helps.

Sorry, apparently the rotors are (slightly) larger, semi float but the calipers are extremely similar & share the same pads as the 335i
Imo this is hardly a brake upgrade as many in the past has done this & stated the same thing. If you do switch to the M3 brakes I would get the M3 master cylinder as they're different. Point being I wouldn't look to the M3 rear brakes as a big selling feature when shopping for a rear subframe. Imo I wouldn't buy the whole M3 subframe conversion unless you can get it low miles & cheap. You will still need to convert your driveshaft. According to realoem the M3 bare subframe actually weighs 4lbs more than the 335i. Many in the past thought the M3 was lighter but apparently it is actually heavier. Like stated earlier (the deals are out their but need to really search) I have purchased a rear differential, axles with 4k on them for 1100.00 & order a 1 piece carbon fiber driveshaft for 1500.00. I plan on doing the M3 upper control arms only, adjustable lowers & probably the whiteline bushings. The total should put me around $3200.00. Either way you go will be a huge improvement over the factory 335. |
