Injector 5 &6 don't look good, 5 is working it's nuts off with 6 doing nothing, I'd say you have find your issue with low down power!

You'll need an EGR valve delete too - got mine off ebay, really good quality. You'll also need some rubber thermostat blanks and jubilee clips. Sounds like a big job but it isn't really. You will need to get the EGR valve mapped out as it'll throw an engine management light up on the dash. There is a guide on here on how to do the delete and i'll post up where I got my various bits and bobs from if you want. Unfortunately you can't temporarily bypass the cooler, you'll start leaking coolant. All I can say is they generally fail on the copper pipe as shown here.... http://www.fabdirect.com/bmw-parts-f...Cooler/1/7713/ Look for soot around it and the smell of really strong fumes. |

Sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread but I've had my EGR mapped out but haven't physically got the EGR blanked off. I've got some coolant leaking from between the EGR thermostat and the EGR cooler.
I'm thinking it may just be the O-ring or maybe I need a new EGR thermostat but from the above post, will I always get a leak? and if so, what can I do to prevent it? |

An EGR delete with blanking kit and EGR valve bypass will remove the EGR cooler, EGR valve and EGR thermostat. |

Thanks for the replies . I'm thinking I'm going to replace injector 6 as that's the one I'm guessing is faulty with 5 compensating, or have I got that wrong?
Also out of interest could a dodgy injector be responsible for the fuel smell I'm getting at idle? No signs of any external leaks above the injectors. Chrissyw it would be much appreciated if you could post links to the egr bits you bought. Cheers again Steve |

On my brothers (320d) we used this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70-8-mm-EG...-/321170494662 and then this: http://www.allardaluminiumproducts.c...elete-kit.html and blanked off the coolant hoses with some bolts, though ideally you want 18mm stop caps like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Silic...KXmzqtvbGffFBA For the 330d, assuming its an M57 like mine, you need everything the same bar the Allard part. The 330d has an electronic throttle thing so you need a different EGR delete kit, like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-EGR-de...MAAOSwd0BVt5Ao or this http://www.allardaluminiumproducts.c...gr-delete.html |

You may need a decent wrench for the 2 bolts holding in the EGR cooler. Mine were tough buggers to get turning. You'll need a tray / tub to catch the leaking coolant too |
