It has gotten rave reviews since it's release and what makes it even more sweet is that it can easily be had for under $2k! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-m-...&skuId=3733013

SMART TV is very handy for someone like me that is either a) pulling out cable or b) has a second or third set and no freaking way I am running tv cable through finished walls.

It's a shame no one ever considers having their TVs ISF calibrated. People would rather dump money into buying a new TV rather than having their current one adjusted to perform better.

5 years ago I bought a Sony Bravia 60" LED, I still love the thing. I usually get ansy for the new gadget but so far I have seen nothing that makes me want to part with the cash.

Agreed, my Kuro still amazes me after all these years. We are selling our home and one proviso is that the Kuro will not be part of the sale. (Mounted TV's are considered fixtures and typically go with the sale of the house). There are 5 additional mounted screens so the Buyer can have those, but the Kuro goes with me!

My Pioneer Kuro screen is on my wall in my homecinema and build it all by myself . My speakers are from Bowers & Wilkins , 2 fronts , mid , and 2 surrounds . Sub is made in the US and from Velodyne . Heavy Amp. is also from Pioneer . 0 cables are visible but it was a lot of work , and I did it in 4 months after my work and in weekends ! Deep pockets were required ,knowing that the prices are insane in Belgium... but I thought C'mon we only live ones.

I bought a 4k it was awesome watching all those compressed 4k you tube videos....... when these go on sale go to best buy and compare the picture to a new 4k set. I doubt it will be equivalent to even a sub par BJ. Just saying.

Marketing gimmick or not. The wife and I purchased a 65" Sony 4kTV this last year because my old 1080i TV had finally given up (originally purchased in 2005). Cost around 2500 out the door. We sit about 12-15 feet away from the TV and have been very pleased with its performance even though we have only (thus far) watched upscaled video. The passive 3D works well and we found that even the cheap 3D glasses you get at the movie theatres work; and I was surprised at how well the 2D to 3D conversion works. (Although we very rarely watch anything in 3D).
Compared to our old 1080i rear projection TV, it is like looking out the window at real life. We liked the 4K TV so much, we bought a 50" (non-3D) version for our bedroom.

Upscaling an image is not the same as native resolution.
Nearly all HD is broadcast in 720p or 1080i. Even current TV programming hasn't even taken full advantage of 1080p, let alone 4K. 1080p is only truly seen with Blu-Ray. To me, you're throwing your money away on 4k because 99% of the content you watch has to be upscaled to 4k, which is a lot like racing stripes on your BMW to make it faster. If the content isn't there, upscaling it isn't going to do a lot. Plus, from 10 feet away, I doubt anyone can even tell the difference. Stores will fool you by showing you 4k content run off a hard drive. Then you get it home and wonder why the NFL looks the same as your 1080p flastscreen. |

Here's the thing, I know a little about colour and am also aware that many screens (TV, PC screens, phones etc) are far too blue by default. HOWEVER, EVERY SINGLE calibration I have seen in INSANELY warm, just crazy warm, that warmth may be correct in terms of working towards a neutral grey but in reality it looks absolute shite.

I think cable/satellite needs improvement. I have 4k tv's but the picture quality sucks because it's not at it's full potential. Cable company's need to increase bandwidth so we can get the full picture instead of compressed 1080p.

They are still at 720p FFS, 1080 is miles off and 4K, it'll be thousand years. You need to remember that when you double resolution it is FOUR TIMES the bandwidth.

Agreed! These fuggers are so money hungry it's sickening! We already are being bent over with these lame ass scaled back internet speeds. I have friends in Europe and Asia that laugh at the speeds and prices we pay here.

personally i just want a display only to connect to my receiver. it'd be nice to buy one without having to spend MORE money and include all these extra "features." eventually I'm going to have to invest in a projector or something. on top of all that (i'm putting my tinfoil hat on here), but the fact that these sets come with a microphone/camera and connect to the internet? i don't need samsung or whoever to listen to what i watch/say/do.
