i switch to my stage 2 93 flash for winter months, only because it sucks to stand out in the cold at 2 different pumps for more horsepower that i won't be using cause of traction issue in the cold months.

I'm not sure why it would vary at all in Florida, or at least here in South Florida. Has anyone tested E85 content down here in the winter months? I have SteveAZ's ethanol tester, but I've never used it.

when i was in arizona our e85 went down to mid e70s in the winter. Dropped to about the same e content as I have now in Colorado. I think it has more to do with the suppliers than the locations.

And yes, e85 is harder to start up in cold, but that can be compensated for by adding more fuel in the lower RPMs (sub 500rpm). I havent tried it yet with the 335, but I know that was the fix in previous cars Ive had.

Is this why you said f-it and just started running all-E85? I guess I'll have to invest in a gas can and do some testing.

If you run an E60 tune, using E70 in the usual proportion gives you an E52 blend. And if you adjust the proportion to account for E70, but you actually put in E85, you end up with an E72 blend. I'm not sure what the real-world ramifications of that are -- timing corrections maybe with the lower blend, dunno with the higher.

yeah pretty much why ive been running full e85. but i do have a summer/winter tune based on blends, not so much based off power. They actually have similar targets and power, just one uses more fuel.

The timing corrections likely won't be too much of an issue assuming your tuner didn't tune your car to the edge of knock. There needs to be a little room in your timing for a +/- of E5 at a minimum.

At any rate, I recommend all my customers to log their vehicles once a month. That should be a good habit for anyone.
