IMO a lot, if not most, of the richest people on Earth live simple lives. They are not arrogant, lavish, nor have the need to show that they're rich. I believe the idea that people with money should live the lavish life came from celebrities like singers, actors/actresses, and professional athletes. What is not clear to most of us is that those people are basically entertainers. They like to spend money and live large (parties, mansions, super cars, etc.).
These billionaires, on the other hand, dont really give a damn because everyone knows they're rich. So they're humble rather than overbearing. |

No. Billy Bob has parties for M$FT execs and such at his house from time to time. Sometimes he picks a few worker bees to tag along as a reward for their Mountain Dew induced coding comas. I happened to know a guy who got an invite and I tagged along. It was like going to the White House. All sorts of Secret Service looking dudes wearing ear pieces and whispering in their collars. We got very limited access to the facilities (mostly outside) but we did manage some peeks inside as well.

Amen to that. I don't like his politics, but he's a friggin' brilliant business man.

I work for #204 on Forbes list, him and his wife don't drive nothing to crazy... Dude buys the cars they auction at his own fundraisers. His house is pretty sick though..

I updated a new link to the article. For the weird reason, my original link stopped working. http://www.forbesautos.com/advice/to...lionaires.html |
