IMO a lot, if not most, of the richest people on Earth live simple lives. They are not arrogant, lavish, nor have the need to show that they're rich. I believe the idea that people with money should live the lavish life came from celebrities like singers, actors/actresses, and professional athletes. What is not clear to most of us is that those people are basically entertainers. They like to spend money and live large (parties, mansions, super cars, etc.).

These billionaires, on the other hand, dont really give a damn because everyone knows they're rich. So they're humble rather than overbearing.

You should find some more pictures and read about it if you don't know about his home. It's pretty...awesome I guess.

I wouldn't put much stock in Forbes lists. This one about what celebrities drive is no exception
not spending his money on stupid shit as nothing to do with the concept of saving money here and there, it's actually what it implies...not spending your money on stupid shit and using it on things that bring value and/or wealth

Yes, a couple years back. We didn't get to see the whole thing but what we saw was impressive to say the least. Talk about technology driven home automation...

No. Billy Bob has parties for M$FT execs and such at his house from time to time. Sometimes he picks a few worker bees to tag along as a reward for their Mountain Dew induced coding comas. I happened to know a guy who got an invite and I tagged along. It was like going to the White House. All sorts of Secret Service looking dudes wearing ear pieces and whispering in their collars. We got very limited access to the facilities (mostly outside) but we did manage some peeks inside as well.

Amen to that. I don't like his politics, but he's a friggin' brilliant business man.

What you got from this "news piece", BMW makes a 2007 550i that is called an M5 for $58k and is sometimes known as an M3 whose body style and interior refinements are from a 2008 and it separates itself from the other luxury sedans by the trunk opener. And those "in the know" buy an M5 because it has stitched leather steering wheel with three special colors.

Aside from that unbelievably terrible auto review, their news pieces just lack substance. It's as if they cater to 10 year old wannabe-millionaires. Garbage.
Wow. Just.......wow. I think I am now dumber for having listend to that forbes report on the M5...I mean m3....er, 550.....

I work for #204 on Forbes list, him and his wife don't drive nothing to crazy... Dude buys the cars they auction at his own fundraisers. His house is pretty sick though..

I updated a new link to the article. For the weird reason, my original link stopped working.
