I upgraded the bixenon bulbs to Nightbreaker D1S and they work great.
Also installed some auxiliary driving lamps inside the kidneys and those are awesome!! I outshine 99% of the cars and trucks on the road on highbeam now.

I read all of this thread and really might take your lead someday, as I am used to great aux lighting on my jeep. For now I am hoping the D1S will work but when I go to order them it says they arent compatible with my car

All e90's have used d1s. So if you have xenon, that's the right bulb type.

if you have halogens, the high beam bulb is same as low beam bulb. for high beam I use the osram rally it is 65W instead of 55w, not really recommended for your low beam but makes a great difference for high beam.

For headlights? Yes, I ordered them for my 2006. D1S.

If you order two, they are much cheaper, and on the splash page, they show a coupon code for further discount.

Wait, are you talking about the actual Xenon headlight bulb or the DRL H1 bulb? The DRL is the inner halogen bulb. I just ordered upgraded DRL H1's from them as well. The DRL will never provide any actual lighting of the road.

I am talking about the actual xenon bulb. I just replaced the DRLs, I believe they were H8's on mine. I want better headlights thats all, I may buy new stock units if I have to because according to previous posts, they wear out and Im sure mine are old. I would def like an upgrade though. I will be in touch with this company to check if they will work

Ya, their drop down menus are terrible for NA cars. Just gotta know what bulb you are looking for and choose them manually.

Also, had one of my D1S burnout, so I ordered the Nightbreaker version. But since they are currently on back order, ran over to our body shop and grabbed a couple newish OE bulbs from smashed headlights. Installed those and that change alone made my headlights 100% better.

Can't wait to try the Nightbreaker.

If you want the best D1S bulbs, look no further than Osram Xenarc CBI's. Pure white light and are much brighter than stock ones. I picked up a pair 2 years ago when I first bought my car and they're still going strong. You can pick them up here.

Where can I find a set of these used ones? haha! I called all the local salvage yards and they said most of our cars come in with front end damage so the bulbs are usually shot. Plus if those nightbreakers are on backorder I dont want to wait! Any inside connection would be HIGHLY appreciated! When your nightbreakers arrive would you be willing to sell me your old bulbs?

These sound super bright, but the trade off in life span is not what I am looking for but thanks! Maybe someday Ill give them a whirl!

Just an FYI, the Osram Nightbreaker bulbs have about a 300 hour less lifespan. Regardless, I'm fairly confident you won't be burning either of the two bulbs out any time soon.
