Really? My M-Sport is black sapphire metallic with saddle brown dakota leather interior. Is that what you're calling red? If you wanted to insult it you might call it orange but no way is it red.

I stand corrected. I believe you are right - the nice chestnut interior now I recall WAS available for the e90 M-Sport. Exterior color combinations were not as available, though. Old age.... its not good!

I think in the end the dealer I want to trade to will budge even $1. They would auction the car off for cheap. Not really the fate I had envisioned for my 335d. And selling to a private party will depend on finding the right buyer that is looking for exactly this car (like I was 3 years ago) and appreciates its value.

If you're interested in the car, check out the for sale section shortly or pass the word around if you know someone that might be.

Cheers & Happy Holidays!
I looked for months last year for a car like yours, $25k seems like a fair price for your fine example. I paid that last year for an equally loaded although less desirable color.. And a highline dealer that flips these cars had one similarly optioned for $35k last year..
If you can wait for the right buyer you'll get your price..
My rule of thumb is dealers like to make 5-7k on trade ins . That's just my opion.

Take the car to autonation, or a similar place. Have them give you a trade in value quote. If it's greater then the dealer use Thie quote as a lever to negotiate a better trade in for the Porsche.

Also consider the sales tax implication, most states use the value of the trade in as a deduction against sales tax.

As to whether it's a fair deal, it's hard to say. Cars are a depreciating asset, they are always worth less than most owners would like to think because of their emotional attachment to them. Typical depreciation is 20% per year. Expect a bigger hit the year the warrenty is up.

As a point of reference I purchased a 2011, with sport package, nav, hk, sat radio, heated seats with 28k miles for 24,000 in April. I'd expect it's trade in value to be 17,500, with 41k miles now. So a similar car to mine, I'd say 20k site unseen is probably ball park.

But I dunno the condition, maintence history, remaining warrenty, etc.

So in the mean time I've accepted a down-payment on the 335d. If the deal goes through it will be better than trading it in. I also think that way I have more negotiating leverage on the new car. After all, the dealer wants to sell cars, not take them back

The more I think about it, the more I'm wondering if I should have kept the 'd...
