You're a braver man than I. That's a sure fire way to grenade your driveshaft. Do you have the boost turned down in 1st and 2nd gear with your JB4?
Limiting boost to 10psi in first. New DS are easy to put in. I'm not worried about that. The trans scares me some, but the car is under warranty and my buddy owns an Indy shop. Screw it.

Atta boy! Did it still blow the tires off or did you get some traction?

I made 3 passes, trying LC each time. The first two times, LC would engage but then disengage and I would take off at almost idle RPMs. So not much different than just mashing the gas at the light. The final time the LC worked and I left at 5k, DR gripped and the trans made a violent clunk noise so I lifted LOL. Got back on it and it took off. No traction issues at all with the ET streets. I'd prefer to have a line lock though so I can at least heat them up with a little burnout. That's far down the road though. After these FBO and meth parts arrive, I'm looking at brakes and coilovers and an AK style CF lip and diffuser.

What size MT'S did you end up going with and did you use the OEM 18" wheels you had?

Aargh. I hate drag racing this car. Just mashing the gas at the tree got me an 8.7@88 with a 2.3 60' last night and I lost to my friend in his EVO. I HATE losing to EVOs..... I'm gonna try getting the 135i LC flashed on the car. If using LC doesn't work I guess I'll be done drag racing this car.

Very nice. I really need to get that 135i LC software done ASAP. Good runs. I'd be ecstatic to have sub 8 second 1/8mi times.

Only thing you can really do is let of the brake and mash the gas on the last yellow light. It doesn't work very well. I net 2.1-2.3 60's using that method. Can't brake boost a DCT.

most guys who have tried aggressively launching their dct at the strip for any extended period of time have broken stuff. ask buraq, i think hes on his third or fourth driveshaft. either just roll it out and settle with a crap 60ft, or use his launch technique and be prepared to pony up for parts.

I'm itching to try the 135is TCU flash (already flashed my car) and the boost by gear limits in MHD and find that sweet spot for a sub 2.0 60ft. I think the boost limit will reduce the driveline shock and wheelspin for those of us on street tires. If you're on DR's you should be able to dial up more boost since you'll have the traction but at a greater risk of driveline failure.

so just to let you know when I posted those videos and used the 135i launch control, I had boost set at 14psi for 1st and 2nd and was on street tires at 23psi, that's how I landed my 2.060 60ft or whatever it was

My best 60 ft was 2.15 just using my everyday tire pressure (35 psi) on street Yokohamas, full boost, and just rolling on the gas for a 11.86 run. I think if we dialed down first and second a bit more it might be quicker. I noticed the DTC light flashing meaning it started spinning and maybe got out of shape on your 2nd run. Keeping DTC from kicking in is the key when using LC for a fast time. I need a good test and tune session to really experiment with it.
