If you have ever noticed the wanton wiggle in the back end upon hard acceleration out of corners with the slightest upsets in the pavement and you want to get rid of that then the rear sub-frame bushing upgrade is where 85 - 90% of the fix is at. For a street driven car, the E9X M3 sub-frame bushings are great. They introduce a very little if not an entirely negligible amount of Noise / Vibration / Harmonics (NVH) to the cabin - most that have done this modification/upgrade (self included) will tell you it is all but imperceptible and that if there is ANY increase in harshness it is minuscule and easy outweighed by the handling gain. This in combination with the the M3 control arms and tension struts up front (which allow a small bit more negative camber and further tighten handling) really transform the car. The M3 bits for the front can be done later when its time to do other planned suspension upgrades or maintenance. They really improved the handling of the car - especially if you move to go-flats from the stock run flats. Note that if at some point you do the M3 bits up front you will notice more NVH if you stay on the run flats as the stock parts have softer bushings to absorb the road surface feel that the hard as a rock run flats transmit to the chassis. The M3 does not come with run flats so the tire is "normal" and absorbs most of the road surface imperfections instead of making it the job of the suspension hardware.

The most expensive part of the sub frame bushing upgrade is the labor associated with the sub frame removal / dropping to do the work. So if you want to do this and the sub frame is already coming out - now is the time.

Below is a link to one forum sponsor where you can get these (and there are many others as well including of course the local dealer but they will be more expensive - but sometimes you can get them to price match other BMW dealers who have online parts business and have very good discounts).
