Hi there, looking to do the rebuild on my DISA valves. Wonder what you used to cut the body open? Any tips for getting a nice clean split? Did you fuse the two cut halves with acid? Thanks.

I found the best and cleanest way is a sharp exact blade(just the blade) and a hammer.

Take your time going around the seam and hammering it in to split, going around parts at a time. You might have to score the seam with it to get it located right at the seam

dragging this back from the depths of time...

i was getting some hesitation / stumbling at idle and the only code the dme knew about was for the small disa.
i pulled the intake and it had tons of oil in it, good thing i'm replacing the valve cover/oil separator this week as well.
big disa valve has a flap that's disconnected from the gear, just opens and closes whenever it wants, regardless of what the motor's doing.
small disa valve opens a tiny bit, then might eventually open all the way.

i ordered a couple of cheapos from amazon because i need to drive to Philly later this week, but i'll see about rebuilding the originals when i get back.

the UK site doesn't sell them anymore, but I found another seller that does.
big valve:

small valve:

these repair kits are cheaper too.
