2.59 a gallon for Propel HPR in Oakland CA. For a close in Bay Area city that is cheap. Lowest I have seen in Berkeley is 2.39 just off I80.
Update....just paid 2.19 for Propel in Redwood City, CA. |

$1.79 with .10 off per gallon here in South Atlanta for using Kroger loyalty card. Can get up to $1.00 off per gallon if you buy enough groceries from Kroger.

Found this thread while searching old discussions. Thought the group might enjoy a throwback to cheaper fuel prices.
As of December 2022 my local prices are $5.80 per gallon. Big thanks to all the forum contributors. Lots of great info in the archives (including funny relics like this). |

About 10 years ago I bought two 600 gallons aluminum military surplus portable fuel tanks. Every year I would refill the tanks in December or March. These are the two times of the year fuel prices are at their lowest. I would typically save around $0.75 per gallon. In 2020, I held off refilling my tanks because of COVID. I refilled my tanks in June that year when crude oil prices dropped to almost nothing and everyone's tanks were full to the top. I paid $1.26 per gallon. I drove for the next two years at $1.26 per gallon. Talk about sticker shock going from $1.26 per gallon to $4.35 per gallon. Now I fuel up like everyone else at at gas station. I don't want to spend $5,000 to fill my tanks.

Tom, what are the logistics of filling 600 gallon tanks? Do you call the local distributor and they send the tanker truck to your house?
