Hi ... instead of guessing i suggest you to go to a workshop ... since your radiator and coolant , hoses changed ...
there are further steps to check before opening your engine. Change the turbo hoses... (cheapest) Radiator, waterpump /thermostat Aircon/heater coils Lastly Open up your engine and check cracks .. Good luck ... If u can pressure it up and leave the car overnight ... otherwise i rather spend money and change the hoses and lastly is the worst case engine open up to confirm coolant goes into engine... |

Yeah I guess you didn't see my last update where the car has been fixed. Also all those other things were already replace by BMW and an independent shop.
But all seems to be good right now on the car. |

potential drain plug problem
you're my savior Jacblack. I have exactly the same problem and all sorts of weird problems which the bmw techs cant figure and I cursed just like you - "first and last bmw" and also said to their face - "May Lord Musk eat this garbage bimmer company alive... just like apple decimated nokia". Bimmer is a waste of my time more than money. The only reason I keep this garbage is because its a convertible and Musk doesnt seem to be making one anytime soon.
At this point, I'm putting in coolant once every 2-3 months, but I drive the car very little .. only when I feel like opening up the roof. Like you said, it doesn't leak when you want it to leak ..... but when you feel like its behaving, it suddenly dumps out a pool of this blue liquid under the driver side. I will start with the drain plug. Thank you so much. |

There's an in or outlet off the motor, front driver side. Made of plastic. Very common leak spot. They get brittle and crack. When I replaced my brothers with a metal one the old one crumbled apart when I took it off. Very easy to replace. I now the op said it was fixed but just putting this out there

I ended up buying a radiator pressure test kit from Harbor Freight. It took a while to find it, but there was a tiny pinpoint hole in the bottom side of the upper radiator hose, the hard plastic part. But if there is a more substantial leak, this will easily find it.
