Can't be 100% sure the car was always stock though, one of the previous 2 owners did fit KW V2 coilovers. I've only had the car since 128 000km, might not even be the first chargepipe. |

Hi
So talked with Joe. Seems like I have the option to either flash the Rom to old version (supported by COBB) or flash the Rom to New version (not supported to COBB)//all related to the PPK flash. Does anybody know the difference between pre-November version of ROM and post -novemember (the one COBB is still having issues with) Obviously haven't made my mind yet if I want COBB or JB4 Thanks |

I am interesting in this. I had this on my 135i that I traded in for the 335i. I miss the crackles.

I asked Joe from TopGearSolutions remote flash PPK onto my 2011 335i N55.
We will get together soon to flash some other goodies onto the car as well. Meanwhile, PPK is working just great, there's definitely more power and exhaust sounds that come as result are delicious!! |

Did the PPK flash the other night. Absolutely love the sound, especially with the Dinan exhaust. I needed a DME update since my car was built during a time when some less-than-optimal values in it, causing idle fluctuations and stalls in specific situations. The PPK has a more optimal tune and then some Everyone should do it!
If you're familiar with using WinKFP and NCS-Expert, the flash is a piece of cake. If you're not, it's....a lot of work to get familiarized with the software. From any sort of programming standpoint, it's an incredibly convoluted, buggy, and patched together system with files that query files that query files. BMW doesn't really ever change it, they just release new interfaces to automatically do lots of things for you - but damn does it work, and damn are the files human-readable. Because it's so readable, we can do things like this Last edited by Welcome to NBA Jam; 03-24-2016 at 11:03 PM.. |

Got my tuned done by Joe@TopGearSolutions a day or so ago. It is a must have for the N55. I love the crackles. Even more louder crackles than my 135i had with PPK for that as well.

Just make sure you let everyone know upfront here about which ones you can flash as far as their ROM is concerned.

The only downside I've seen so far with the older ROM is that some cars will have a low idle issue, where it will act like it's stalling. Which is one of the fixes that the newer version fixed. I've only seen this as an issue with an Euro car. As all US models flashed so far have reported no such issues. Joe |

I had the PPK installed by BMW when I bought the car. It was OK, but the custom flash tune from PTF totally kicked its ass, even on the stock engine.
