funny how in all this and all the replies no one actually hit me with some fact. like parts they have or are looking in to. who out there on this thread actually owns a n55 e92 and has actually done some serious work to their cars regardless of the cost? let's ween out the jokesters. yes some cosmetic stuff will transfer from the n54 model but that is about it, Correct?

after to looking to vrsf exhaust most of their stuff is for n54 models or for 2014 models or later. or for rwd vehicles only. the search continues. also with this in mention are there any exhaust options anyone has found that isn't over the top loud. i would prefer to go quiet if i could

Adding lightness to an e9x has nothing to do with the engine. You can't lighten up the engine or trans (well not without going to a racing dogbox) or diff but you can lighten up the body and rolling chassis which is pretty much totally independent of whether it has an N51, N52, N54, or N55 under the hood. You know, seats, interior trim, sunroof, wheels, rotors, battery, exhaust, etc.

ARC-8 wheels are a decent and cheap option. If you have a sunroof you can lose about 55 lbs with a carbon fiber blankoff panel, two of which are close to coming to market. Race seats will lose maybe sixty pounds but you'll lose power adjustment and heating, and comfort for that matter. Getting rid of everything lining the trunk and behind the front seats will help and going to a Braille battery can lose a substantial amount of weight. And RacingBrake rotors, if they have drop-ins for your car, will save some extra unsprung weight in addition to what the wheels save. Gutting the interior will save quite a bit of weight but you'll have to fabricate some floorboards to retain relative pedal height. Takes a lot of work with a heat gun and brake cleaner to get all the sound deadening panels off the metalwork though. BTW, if the race seats make it impossible to use the three point belts you'll need to have a roll bar installed and go to six point harnesses along with a detachable steering wheel. All airbags can be removed along with all the seat belt parts, the headliner, sun visors, rearview mirror, pillar covers, impact sensors, etc. and you can go to a lightweight five panel Wink mirror with an 8" tint strip along the top of the windshield.

Nobody said lightening up the car would make it more comfortable...

If u want weight reduction get a gutted civic you should not be buying cf for a bmw for weight it should be for looks. Just my opinion.

Get a csl trunk which weights less than stock and has a high kick so you will never need a spoiler and looks good

I have an update on all this... A WARNING FOR CONSUMERS ABOUT SEIBON. I ordered the BM style hood from Seibon back right after getting the good news that they fit our models and well that was bad info. Yes the hood fit, but the hood they sent had several cracks near the hood vents in that style hood (M3 style). I informed Seibon and this is where it got worse they offered me 100$ discount on a damaged item or offered to ship another hood. But they didn't have a hood made yet and it would be three weeks until I could get the one made....so I waited because 100$ off a damaged 1000$ item was a serious joke to me. In retail secondary goods even from the manufacturer can cost no more than 50% of the original value, especially damaged product. Thats when I knew we were kinda dealing with NON-CUSTOMER SERVICE company, ya see seibon does seibon service. so fast forward 5 weeks in to the future and the second hood gets to my house, and it has a crack in the hood vent as well. this is when I started asking like how bad will this get and can it be fixed. No answer. Then they suggested the same deal, 100$ off purchase price to keep, But never addressing my questions in the first place. Then they wanted me to field destroy the two hoods to even receive my refund back.... which I'm still waiting on if i were anyone here i would avoid Seibon. I have been in contact with vis racing and their already answering questions seibon never did. Also this was clearly a stress crack due to where the hoods vents had the screens applied and was not shipping damage as seibon kept saying. In the end they didn't offer to make me the product i purchased and simple told me basically they weren't capable of making a 100% intact hood and that was all. Today i am still waiting for my refund and i would not recommend Seibon to a single bmw fan. In the end I'm out 10 weeks of time and my money for those ten weeks and that was never addressed. Seibon and their nonexistent customer service is crap. i can up load pics for everyone if they would like to see

Their was a vendor that sold a carbon fiber roof replacement. It eliminates the sunroof which is heavy with a carbon fiber roof (not overlay).
