The 600's look like slightly slower factory turbos in terms of spool and power delivery. RR600 in 4th looks like stock in 3rd.

They make 20psi by 3200 in 4th (E50). Stock I make 17.x psi by 2718 rpm in 3rd (98 ron).

At 3000 rpm in 4th RR600 is making 440 lb/ft (E50), at 3000 rpm in 3rd mine is making 440 lb/ft (98 ron). That makes them a fair amount 'laggier' than stock. The RR700 dyno shows them making 390 lb/ft at 3000 rpm in 4th (50 lb/ft less than RR600 same gear same fuel) so I'd guess the 700's would be about 300 rpm slower spooling again.

Really want to see a 93 mon or 98 ron pump gas dyno.

I just went through to the "Shipping and Checkout" stage on the BoostConcepts store to see what they charge to ship turbos, inlets and a fuel pump to Australia. US$170. Pretty good considering it's US$195 for just the turbos and inlets direct from Hexon. BoostConcepts have the inlets $10 cheaper too. It all adds up!

Total for RR600s, inlets and fuel pump shipped to Australia is US$2815 plus the $500 refundable core charge. I've asked Chris if he'd mind if I order my own cheaper "install kit" from Tischer BMW and have it shipped to him so he can throw it in with my other stuff. The Hexon "install kit" includes stuff that just doesn't need to be replaced.

Hmm interesting times ahead

I was trying to organise to purchase some turbos but they havent been answering emails....

A few reports of their products failing and poor service have been popping up here:

hmmmm didn't see this one coming! Hope my RR700s don't have any future issues, looks like warranty claim would be a pain in the ass. Very unprofessional of Hexon not sending out an official comm to both existing and potentially new customers.

Looks like you've dodged a bullet mate @dr-jekl . Did your bank account/ credit cars get debited already

Yeah their warranty on paper sounded great, but when paying customers couldn't get their turbos within a few months what chance does a warranty claim customer have of getting replacement turbos ASAP before they resend their failed hexon units

Nope hadn't paid as I was sorting out a deal with a E90post vendor and we weren't getting any responses from them...

Perhaps I'll just wait another 6-12 months for the latest and greatest reliable turbo offering...

So whats the big deal? Wayne isnt working there anymore, and there may be a bit of a wait on orders, as per usual.

Saw this coming along time ago.. RB, VTT, now Hexon, I can see Pure joining this list! I personally think it's crazy to upgrade to high flowed stock frames on this platform! Single ftw!

My Hexons were part of the first batch of 700s produced so am hoping there was tight quality control. So far i've had them on the car for 500km so early days but no issues so far. I sure love the way they spool and respond on my run in tune.

So how many reported failures have there been? Sounds like just one set of 600s in the US from a recent batch?

^ this.

Clearly there's a common issue with stuffing larger wheels into the stock housings. Only advantage of the upgrade is to get better wastegate components but as totti said stay with the stockers or go single.
