It won't make a difference compared to using JB4 on/off.
If that's what you are looking for then go to JB4.

A Stage 1 or 1+ tune will not take away your ability to drive normally. In fact I bet you wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you took it easy on the gas and left it in regular drive mode.

But when you want it, the power is there for you to enjoy.

Drive mode could use all stock tables, while Sport/Manual use the MHD tables. Perhaps this could be a user option too so everyone is happy.
The 5 series does have a sport button and all it does is make the throttle more sensitive, raise shift points, and disable 6th gear. It would be awesome to run higher boost or timing when enabled.

Most likely not necessary at all. Just make the "Requested Torque % High" table values have a maximum value of say 70 instead of 100. and it should make D mode target a maximum of 70% of the load target. You would need to test that it actually works like this.

After finally testing, I can confirm that reducing the "Requested Torque % (High) table only, to a maximum of less than 100, makes the load target in that mode lower, even at 100% throttle. No more need to recommend that users don't go WOT in D mode with a powerful setup, simply adjust the table so that it's not possible to push too high power through D mode.

Agreed. I use Cobb, but with Alpina and a light touch on the gas, D mode is very tame. If I floor the pedal it runs hard, even in D.

This exactly! MHD makes it too easy to break the tires loose and I would hate for someone to get hurt driving my car. I know someone is going to say it is "pointless" or "dont let anyone else drive your car" but there are scenarios where that just isnt possible.
