No sign of a dyno sheet though.
It's in French but it has a dyno showing a gain of roughly 44bhp and 47 lb/ft.

The fact you can get up to 268 with just a remap is tempting enough. Is a Dyno sheet something that will prove this?

Definitely. Get a before and after run from a reputable tuner and you should be fine.

Everything I've posted suggests there's a lot of unlocked potential in the N53 aside from the manifold. A lot of sites don't seem to list the N52 & N53 separately as both are around the same base bhp so only show modest gains which will be the N52 gains.

The 325d and 330d LCI are a similar story. The French site I've posted shows a 325d LCI 204 map to more than a 330d LCI 245. The pre-LCI 325d was 197bhp. A modest increase in power at the facelift actually brought a lot of potential.

Interesting. The graph is more or less linear. On the Mosselman remap there is drop and then increase in power around 4.5k revs. There is noticeable lag at that point during acceleration and then a kick, which almost feels like a turbo kicking in, but its most likely due to the manifold.

Hey guys....So I checked out one of the links posted above claiming that my N53 325i is capable of an increase of nearly 50bhp from a remap alone. I understand that the engine in the 325 is the same as in the 330 and is just detuned, and such is capable of this performance. But I was under the impression the 3 stage manifold was essential in reaching such figures???? (As seen in the charts above ^^^)

There must be at least one of you wonderful people out there who has remapped their N53 without changing the manifold? My (rather limited admittedly) knowledge and experience is telling me a 50bhp increase over stock from a £250 ECU remap of a naturally aspirated engine is just TOOOOOOO good to be true.

If not....I'm booking in ASAP!!!!!

Have a look at quantum tuning, i have one of there custom remapps on my 335i & am very happy with the results, a 45bhp increase.
When I was looking into remapps there was a lot of company's offering 60-80bhp increases. In the end as I had concerns about reliability & decided on a modest remapp.
After much research I chose to go with quantum. They have reps nationwide & the guy that did mine came to my house & it took about a hour & half & cost £250.
If you do go for a big bhp increase you should maybe consider uprating the brakes Imo.
Good luck buddy

I have the 330i inlet on mine and was going to put it into auto enhance to have them install the mosselmon tune but its just generic so I am sending my car into BW chiptune to have it done properly on a rolling road etc. Even without the manifold BW Chiptune can get good increases out of the 325i and they seem to be very heighly rated.
