FYI, if you cancel your current policy, by law you'll get the pro-rated amount for whatever is left on your policy. If possible, try to buy coverage 30 days ahead of time - you might get up to 10% off for many carriers.

Very strange... do you have an unusually high amount of infractions or something?

Geico is crap. Even if they were cheaper (they aren't), the service isn't going to be good on a cut-rate policy.
Man, I think my insurance for 3 cars is only $1200 a year and that's me and my wife with full coverage + maxed out liabilities & damage coverage (I've been sued before, you do NOT want the minimum coverage!). |

I just don't get how I got ripped off by the lizard and AIG all those years. Though I admit when I got the 335i, the annual was like $690? wtf. It's more than that today. |

Come on people. Don't you guys know that up to 80% of your insurance premiums are based off credit score now? Many time people pay a higher premium than DUI offenders because of lower credit scores. OP has shit credit. Based off his age, and what he said for a driving record, it's the top denominator. My brother is 31, lives in BROOKLYN NY, and pays $1190.00 a year through Geico on his 2013 335. His FICO sits at around 780-790.
I insure 4 vehicles through Geico. $1800 per year, THREE with FULL coverage. FICO scores in the 770 range between all three bureaus. 7 YEARS ago, I was still rebuilding credit from a divorce, and I had FICO's in the 580-610 range. My insurance premium was FOUR times higher for similar coverage/policies on only 2 vehicles at the time. Here's a great article you should all read... http://blog.credit.com/2015/08/bad-c...-a-dwi-122212/ |

Here I was complaining about spending $1,000 year on insurance @ 27...From my experience, getting them to use OEM parts is a nightmare but it can be done.
Also, I'd shop around. Geico was EXTREMELY expensive for me - ended up going with Liberty Mutal. |

I already switched to Progressive for HALF the cost (same coverage). Just making sure to get my windshield replaced before I leave Geico. Quote:
Had one accident 14 years ago (someone hit me); but I was under my parent's insurance. Afterwards, I had a 350Z, and my 335i under Geico for about 10 years now. 1 ticket 1 mechanical breakdown insurance claim 1 glass claim (yesterday) This is over the course of 10 years..... at $3k+ a year.

Have you shopped around?
One thing that many (all?) insurance companies will do and never admit to is they take advantage of the boiling frog effect. They sloooowly raise your rates over time, but only if their internal algorithms say that you're one of those people who will stick with them almost no matter what. Doing it slowly just increases the odds that you'll just be a good little customer and take it. I'm sure that there's some official name out there on the web for this kind of thing, but I don't know it; hence "boiling frog".

Young single guy/ nice car... translation... insurance ax murderer. Sucks to be you, unless of course you have that nice car cause you can afford it, in which case.......enjoy the youth, the rest of us would pay a bunch to be young, and, successful.

While I can afford my car, I'm doing it at the expense of other things because prioritize cars & driving over other things. They are among the very few things in life that I enjoy. While it does suck to be me; having a car I love and the freedom to drive it anywhere is one hell of a silver lining.

UPDATE
Spoke to Safelite and had them "order" a Pilkington OE replacement windshield. When I show up for mt appointment, I have a micrometer to test the thickness of the glass, and a piece of white paper to see if there's any sort of green/blue tint to make sure it's "like and kind quality". They show me the replacement glass, and......... it's Fuyao! Apparently someone at the warehouse sent that instead. Not what we agreed on, so I left. Waiting on a Pilkington or Saint Gobain replacement.

I've never seen more people so damn anal about a damn windshield... It's a piece of safety glass FFS.... If it's installed correctly, there's nothing to FKN worry about. Geez....

I noticed that on my Saint Gobain Sekurit with the BMW logo, the M in BMW was a little faint compared to the B and the W. You bet I went back and had them put one in with a nicer roundel, and had the manager sign a paper stating it would not fade within 84 mos.
