Thanks again all. Lots of different views about how to improve these poor stereo systems. I just wanted a cheapest way to add some oomph to my system without changing all the speakers (like I did in my last car).

Gonna have a think and decide what to do but I'm still edging towards amp and sub in the boot. Just might be a bit more powerful than I was thinking previously.
