Here is a log from the ER website showing IATs with their FMIC vs OEM. It would be nice to see similar graphs from other vendors.

WELL,

I already did... I have found very few thread and it's more of people just blabbering to each other without FACTUAL PROOF OF LOGS...
Also to note, most of those threads were for F30's with N55's and NOT the e92!

I really feel like intercooler is extremely important to me as I live in South Florida where we have 2 seasons: Hot and Hotter.

Anyway, is the VRSF 7inch actually any good?

I've heard crazy differences in deltas with the ETS and ER intercooler, but the only reason why I've heard that VRSF is good is purely because it's 400 dollars cheaper than the next reputable intercooler.

Anybody want to chime in and give their .02 cents?
Just saw your post, I just bought a black set of mishimoto intercoolers

Basically besides vsrf, all other intercoolers in the market are comparable, ( from all the reviews I have read, this video also sheds some light on colors considering you are in florida summer )

VRSF are popular because they are the price leader and they work. I ended up getting an AA FMIC (it was a little bit more than a VRSF 7" but had great reviews and had been around longer). I am very happy with mine. Its a 100 degrees in Texas right now and the car does not suffer from heat soak.

I purchased and installed well over 50 intercoolers in the past 20 years, and I could not tell you one was a better "Quality" over an another.... Most all of them are entirely manufactured overseas. There is actually only about 4 intercooler core manufacturers...
Just because you can install something in a car doesn't mean have a degree in mechanical engineering and understand the mathematics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics behind the development. It just means you can insert slot A into slot B. Having installed over 50 intercoolers means you can insert slot A into slot B faster than someone else.

There's a lot more that goes into developing a consumer-grade intercooler that far exceeds OE specifications than "a little change in end tank design."
