Keep an eye out in classified or on ebay. Do some research on retrofitting!

BMW without halos does not look like a BMW. In 07 I bought a brand new E90 328 and changing the headlights was one of the first things i did. That was pretty much what brought me to E90post. Although I went with the OEM xenon option.

P.S. Just thinking loud, please don't pay attention: at that rate I'm starting to wonder if Option 1 - e.g. going with DEPO LED headlights is not that bad idea after all: no wiring mods required, cheaper (found them today on ebay for $500 for a set of 2 headlights), best LED HALO rings on the market, and they will be NEW with 1 year warranty. The only downside is they have weak beam pattern with halogen bulbs, but I'm starting to think I can install HID in them and maybe that will be the key to the problem? edit: nevermind, just realized you had E90 sedan. E90 is much easier, only need the headlights if it's xenon to xenon retrofit. (I think you need FRM3 though, for the LED elements) Quote:
I can tell you right now, retrofitting the LCI design into pre-LCI lights isn't possible... sadly. Not enough room. You'd have to hack up the housing too. LCI headlights for the E92 are quite a big larger than pre-lci, due to them tricking out the parking lamps, DRLs and turn signals with LED designs. Rims and bumper will make a way bigger difference than halo rings.
Unless you're going with blue LED halos 99% of people won't notice during the day. At night, the LB draws attention away from the rings. So the only time you'll really be able to show off the halos are during dawn/dusk. It's definitely nice that mine came equipped with halos, but I could live without them. |
