For every 1 person under the age of 50 I've seen driving an M5, I've seen 5 people over the age of 50 driving one. I guess M5's are a grandma/grandpa's car and I never should look at buying one again...

This is why US automakers aren't doing so well. Badge ignorance plain and simple.

The 09 CTS-V is going to be a sleeper. When it hits the showroom, people are going to freak. If they can still afford the gas !

My dad's is a black on black with some sort of wood/alum trim. I like the interior, but I hate the ride/size of the thing. It's soooo floaty...way more than any other SUV I've driven. It's also developed a few random creaks/squeeks here and there that have driven me crazy on long drives. The engine is great, the northstar makes some awesome noise, but the fuel economy sucks balls. I also hate the fake chrome. It's not my style.

Oh, and the driving position is horrible. The steering wheel doesn't have a telescopic feature, and the pedals are horribly placed in relation to one another.

The dash is also very non-user friendly. Took me a good 5 minutes to figure out how to change the LCD info screen between the tach and speedo.

Funny, I drove one of the NEW CTS's and thought it was well laid out and Cadillac comfortable. The floaty ride is true of Caddy's but that is their nature. I would imagine the 2009 CTS-V with the Corvette Magnetic Ride feature is going to be stiff (and adjustable). The seats are different and as to the telescopic steering wheel, that's kinda strange.

it really looks good except for the chrome thing on the fenders. ive been seeing many US cars with a chrome fender thing. out of proportion with the car IMO and really ugly in chrome against the color of the paint. looks pretty dumb in a way. i hope at least they are functional. peace out.

Oh, that's different. The new CTS is a whole new kind of car in terms of what Cadillac's made. I test drove one and found it to easily be the best car they've made yet. A friend of my dad's has a previous gen CTS, and I thought it was mediocre at best. This new one will hopefully mark a new trend for Caddy.

Escalades don't use the Northstar. The last gen used the Vortec 6.0 V8 and the current one uses the Vortec 6.2 V8. Both Small Block OHV V8's.
