As a concept car, I find this brilliant.

As a concept car, I think it's cool that it looks that extreme. Obviously this is never going to come close to even sniffing production so I have no issues with the odd appearance but I can see certain aspects of the car that can influence future Rolls Royce vehicles, specifically the interior.

That's it right there. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but some cars are just plain ugly. I can see one person on a design team or decision making position at car company can like a particular ugly design and say "let's build that". But how does a car company with many designers and decision makers approve an ugly design, even for concept? I mean, don't they have the balls to say to their colleagues, "that's just plain ugly, let's not build this."?

I know concept cars are supposed to push the envelope and inspire change, and at the same time make you think your current car is old, but this is RR concept doesn't do that for me.

I guess in the future we will not have curbs or changes in road inclines.

Seems most here are completely missing the point of this car.

Agreed. While these are not cars I'm usually interested in, it's kind of cool to see each companies vision of what the future will hold.

In the next 10-20 years, cars will be pretty different than what they are now.

I wouldn't mind being driven back by that RR after a night out partying

Step back and realize that it's not a e39 M5. It wasn't built for performance or cornering, or even driving for that matter. Then you should see how absolutely amazing it is!

I think most understand that it's just a concept. The whole point of them posting it here is for people to react, which includes allowing idiots like me to make dumb comments. It's all in good fun.

It's not even a concept, it's a vision. I love it.

Its a pure concept car but illustrates the core message of The Next 100 Years.
Its all about looking forward. We could have done a Hommage to the past or a super sports car that has its roots in the present.
But the committee decided the 100th Anniversary of BMW should be about looking forward to the next 100 years which the Vision cars solely demonstrate.

RR should start taking some risks with their concepts rather than these vanilla designs...

I'm surprised it looks like a car. I will imagine in 100 years the cars will egg shaped or cubes or something of sort - more practical as they likely will be electric or hydrogen or nuclear

This is a "because we can" project.

It has some nice cues, and some meh cues.

BMW hasn't made a decent concept / homage in recent years that I can think of. Their design team needs serious review

Some of you all are so narrow sighted. This is not a production model. It's an exercise in design which allows the artist to think outside the box, which is required for all new trends to occur. If you're not free to break the boundaries with unorthodox designs you'll be left with the status quo. You all need to relax its just a concept design.
