Awesome, thanks so much. I got it downloaded and holy crap there's a lot of really good info in there for just understanding how things work on our car.

Thanks great Diagrams!!! I am definitely talking about transfer pump on the bottom diagram or the transfer unit on the top one!

I pulled the cap off of number 15 on the bottom diagram the extractor connection before the filter (19) and just a couple drips came out! That is as far as i got made me think something is either blocking it in the transfer line (6), The DEF is empty or i dont know it cant be the delivery module because according to your chart it goes res-filter-pump-delivery module-metering module, The tank should drain at the transfer line prior to the filter right? It doesn't. So maybe something simple im out of DEF!

I am not sure you should be getting running DEF from the input to the transfer pump connection. You may wish to try pulling the two nipples of the drain lines to see if your tanks will start draining. This should confirm you have DEF in either tank.

I pulled the cap off the extractor connection (15) before the filter (19) and after the tranfer pump (18) and nothing flows from the one before the filter but does flow from the one after the pump...

looking at your flow chart (2nd diagram) looks like the problem could be my passive tank is not flowing from its cap and my active tank is draining from the other cap... so the problem is probably between my passive tank and the filter?

Just make sure you do not disconnect the module when powered up. Check if there are specific fuses for the metering module. Otherwise, your approach is about right.

Good thinking Yohz, it would be best to disconnect the battery before unplugging this connector (don't close the trunk). I'm not sure which fuse controls the system, but there are two we remove with the JR Tune. One is behind the glove box, the other is in the DDE box. The one behind the glove box is the one I think you need to verify is good.

After you do this, clear the codes and monitor exhaust temp with carly. Or download Torque Pro an see if it works with your OBD connector. If it does, install DWR'S extended PIDS. ....they're awesome.

OK... SO... I did it before i read these messages, and the result were ok. I got flow to the metering module, then cleaned it. Took it for a drive and got engine mal warning again (with 7 codes) then parked the car deleted the codes at idle and re-scanned. one 1 code the one for the metering one of these two. I am thinking just get a new one and pray? What do you guys think the likely-hood of that being my problem.

Not sure if putting new part on will fix it. It might perhaps be a symptom. There are several of us that don't run the metering valve. You might ask if someone would sell (or lend to you) their metering valve for a "swap and see". I need my metering valve for a block off in my downpipe so I can't. My downpipe was made to have metering valve still intact. I need to get a block off plate made so metering valve can be removed. I even have the drawing of the plate courtesy of a nice forum member.

I think you may need the metering valve as well. The resistance can be checked......pm sent

Interruption error codes are electrical in nature and usually result from just unplugging a connector without unhooking the battery. Reset and carry on.

Agreed, but can also be due to a lack of resistance or short, causing the DDE to not get the proper response. So an easy check while car is off the ground already.

I'm no expert but would think the DDE also checks the functionality of the SCR system by looking at the values it gets from the NOx sensors as well. Your metering valve could be fine, but one of the NOx sensors is sending a bad signal?

#1 (pre-SCR) and #11 (post-SCR) in the diagram below.

I still believe that the metering valve code was a byproduct of high EGTs that are caused by other issues. High EGTs resulted in a plugged up metering valve.

Changed the Metering Valve the code is clear and not coming back it took about 10 miles of driving before the #2 injector code cut out but it did, hopefully it stays like that!

Good to hear. Keep us posted. I would still monitor exhaust Temps with Carly for several days.
