Planning on having the setup installed within the next week so I am in the process of purchasing coolant. Would anyone happen to know the additional amount of fluid to be added when installing the PPK2 aux radiator?
Going with 1 gallon BMW coolant + distilled water and then remainder with Water Wetter to fill the aux radiator. |

I had the PPK2 installed by a dealer on my 2011 E92 335i. I was told there were potentially different parts depending on the specific car and they wouldn't know which would be needed until they looked under the hood.
That being said, I think it was ducting that was different not the radiator or hoses. If you're interested send me a PM and I'll give you my invoice from the install |

Just an update.
The auxiliary radiator was installed, one man job was 12 hours on ramps. Most of the time spent was trying to maneuver the hose that connects between the block and radiator, a good 3-4 hours since it involves removing the intercooler and radiator fan. After all was said and done I am seeing temps just under 5 degrees lower after doing a cool-down drive after a hard run. Will try and post a detailed how-to for anyone interested though I highly recommend the upgrade for anyone tracking or driving their car aggressively. |

I have done two of these PPK aux radiators installations. Didn't remove intercooler. Didn't remove radiator fan. 12 hours ? That is little to long. Takes me 3 to 4 hours each with out rushing.

Aside from the non-OEM appearance, why not go all out and fit a big Setrab core in the left wheel arch using a custom bracket?
You could mould some sheet metal to make a duct. All the quick release fittings can be obtained by either buying new hoses or going to the wreckers and sawing off the stainless band, allowing you to run your own hose with a spring or worm drive clamp. There might be one final hurdle - if the DME then flags a fault for taking too long to warm up the engine. |

From reading all the trouble required to do this, it looks like it's generally more effective to get either larger or more efficient radiator
That is, assuming you haven't gotten the PPK2 hardware kit for a heck of a deal...if so, then by all means it's worth it. |
