This is very true^^ although not guaranteed a lot of people love working on their car, thus maintenance record won't show... even if you take it to a regular mechanic they won't show unless they are BMW certified. Something to think about. For example I try to do all the work on my car since I have access to a garage with a lift and I just love knowing more about my car ( even tho it might piss me off sometimes ) but the maintenance is done, and the car is running like a champ even after being 10 years old

Thank you all for the advice. I actually ended up getting the 07 328i sport with 56k miles for $10k. Honestly looks so much better in person especially the sport pkg interior.

Pretty calculated risk if you ask me. The issues these cars are few, and well documented, and parts are getting cheaper.
Helps if you can turn a wrench for the basics and know a strong indie mechanic that likes to do side jobs. I bought mine in 2009 with around 55000 miles. Has almost 180,000 now. Pulls like an ox with an AA tune, I added the obligatory m3 front suspension, the bmw v1 performance shocks when they were on closeout for 133 bucks (wish I bought a second set) tightened the rear with after market toe arms... and added a limited slip diff with 3.38 gears (7%shorter) for a little extra oomph. From snow Buffalo winters (it snows here if you don't know buffalo no need for a damned xi), to routine day to to day driving, and more days at watkins glen than I can remember, its a very, very good car. The only thing that annoyed me was a started that went around 70k miles. I did a proactive h20 pump around 135k. This summer I changed the a/c compressor because the pulley ran out. I just bought my husband a 2014 mk6 GTI drivers edition this past winter, with a DCT or DSG whatever they call their dual clutch setup... and while it is a great car for something with a turbo, and wrong wheel drive, and just two peddles, I still love getting into my 330, instant throttle, amazing sound rumbling out of the bmw perf exhaust.... I open the drivers rear window and cracj the sunroof up even in the winter to hear it. They are very good cars.
