Firstly, excellent work considering the neglect that poor car has seen. Secondly, no offense as you probably know the owner, but how can anyone let such a fine machine get so beat up?

I know everyone here knows how special the M5 is, but perhaps it should be made clear(er) to the owner. I hope you gave the owner a nice but firm scolding.

Bmw may cover that under warranty, tell him to take it to the dealer. I know when that rubbery stuff came off of the door handle on my dads old x5 they replaced it without a problem.

the owner is taking it in soon, there are a few more problems too
